Isis have released a new propaganda video in which they threaten to kill footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at the Russian World Cup this summer.
The Islamic terrorist group have already threatened to take action at next month’s event, but this is the most extreme warning yet.
Their poster shows Ronaldo and Messi being beheaded from behind by masked jihadi soldiers in front of a full football stadium with the caption ‘Your blood will fill the ground’.
The group are increasingly issuing more desperate calls for lone attackers to strike at the global event as their fighters lose ground in Syria and Iraq.
The warning was discovered by cyber intelligence firm Sixgill, which monitors ISIS movements and discussion online and on the dark web.
Sixgill showed the deplorable picture, which was released yesterday, by a pro-ISIS group on an app called Telegram.
Thousands of England fans are expected to base themselves in St Petersburg for the month-long finals, which start on June 14.
Only in April this year St Petersburg was subject to an awful terrorist attack that ISIS claimed, when a briefcase bomb exploded on the metro, killing 14.
The attack was thought to be in retaliation to Russia’s airstrikes in Syria that are coming close to finally ending their presence in the region.
Intel from Moscow has led them to believe that around 2,400 Russians, mostly from central Asia, have gone to the Middle East to fight for the terrorist group in 2015 alone.
