Yaya Toure is to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, manager Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday.
Guardiola said of City's final home match of the season on Wednesday night: "Yaya is not going to stay next season. The Brighton game we will focus on winning and Yaya."
He added: "We are going to try to win the game for him."
The Ivory Coast international joined City from Barcelona in 2010 and has made 314 appearances for the club.
However, the 34-year-old was widely expected to move on this summer, following City's Premier League title victory, having struggled for game time and making only 16 appearances across all competitions this season.
Nonethelss, Guardiola praised the midfielder, saying: "Yaya came here at the start of the journey."
He added: "Where we are now is because of what he has done."
Manchester City face Huddersfield Town at home on Saturday. Their final match at the Etihad Stadium this season, is against Brighton on May 9.
