Wiz Khalifa Hates Hearing Drake’s “Nice For What”

by , in

Wiz Khalifa has no interest in hearing Drake’s smash hit “Nice For What.”
Despite dominating the charts for the past few months, Wiz Khalifa clearly is not a fan of Drake’s music. The Taylor Gang rapper was riding in the backseat of his Mercedes-Benz when the driver started playing “Nice For What” and, well his reaction in the video below says it all. These days, everyone and their auntie have been listening to Drake music with “Nice or What” and “God’s Plan” dominating the charts.
“Turn this sh*t off! Switch it,” Wiz Khalifa said. “Play some G sh*t man.” The “Real Rich” rapper then show off his plastic bag of weed and caption the video “Gangsters only.”
This could just be all a joke by Wiz Khalifa given that Drake is just dominating the airwaves so perhaps he is saying he heard the song way too much. On the other hand, he might be not a big fan of Drake and prefers to hear some gangsta rap music.

Capleton Arrested And Charged With Rape

by , in

Capleton was arrested and slapped with a rape charge.
Reggae legend Capleton, whose real name is Clifton Bailey, is currently in police custody awaiting his first court appearance in Kingston on Monday. Cops placed the 51-year-old entertainer behind bars after conducting an investigation into a police report filed by a female last week. The woman, who is a hairdresser filed a police report on May 2 claiming that Capleton sexually assaulted her at a hotel in New Kingston.
In her police report, the unnamed female told police officers that she was contracted by the entertainer to groom his hair at the hotel in New Kingston on April 28 and that’s when he forced himself onto her and had sex with her against her will. She didn’t file the police report until May 2nd.
Capleton was interviewed by police officers on Friday (May 11th) in the presence of his attorney and detectives say they have enough evidence to arrest and charged him with rape. If he is found guilty, the artist could face 10-15 years in prison for the crime.
Capleton claimed that the alleged victim is trying to extort him and even filed a police report on May 2nd about the alleged extortion. The female victim has denied the extortion claim saying that she is the real victim in the situation.
A rep for reggae/dancehall icon told Urban Islandz that they are confident that he will be exonerated when the justice system gets to the bottom of the situation. “We are confident that Capleton will be exonerated when this is all over,” his rep said. “This is nothing more than someone trying to shake down a famous wealthy entertainer and if the justice system is fair then we have nothing to worry about. That’s all I am able to say about the matter at this time since it’s before the courts.”
Capleton has his first court hearing on Monday in the Home Circuit Court. The “Who Dem/Slew Dem” deejay is booked to perform at Reggae Sumfest in July of this year and now it’s unclear if that performance will still take place.

Cardi B Signs Off Instagram & Twitter Amidst Azealia Banks Beef

by , in

Cardi B says its time to take a break off Instagram amidst a nasty beef with Azealia Bank.
Cardi B and Azealia Banks have been locked in a heated back-and-forth on social media. Both female rappers have been calling each others names and just when it seems like there is no end to the melee that’s when Cardi B deleted her Instagram account and private her Twitter page to focus on her pregnancy, her man, and her music.
The feud started when the Harlem rapper did an interview on The Breakfast Club lambasting the former Love and Hip Hop star. According to Azealia Banks, Cardi B sudden rise to fame is solely because hip hop lowered the bar for her and that is bad for black female culture. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper and her fans begged to differ. She also called Cardi illiterate and a “caricature” of a black woman. She didn’t mince her words when describing her thoughts on the Invasion of Privacy rapper
Last night Cardi B posted a lengthy response and then decided it’s time to turn her attention elsewhere. She made it clear that she never tried to be any different from who she is since the beginning of her career. “I re-read this a couple times for the Akeelahs and the bees out there!!” Cardi wrote. “A woman who constantly find joy in belittling black women (Beyonce, Rihanna, Skai Jackson, Remy Ma), can;t try and stand for them because it’s convenient! The difference between me and you. I’ve never pretended to be or represent someone I’m not! I’ve made it where I am for being myself.”
Cardi B later tweeted a message telling her fans that she will be focusing more on her family, new projects, her man, and pregnancy, and less on this beef with Azealia Banks. “I’m tired of the bulls**t,” she wrote. “I need to enjoy my pregnancy, family, new projects, and my partner. Listen to Invasion of privacy.”

Seriously ill man dies just 17 hours after 999 operator hung up on him

by , in

A vulnerable man with mental health issues died just 17 hours after a 999 call operator hung up on him.

Ronald Russell rang for an ambulance but was only found thanks to a neighbour after emergency services staff failed to locate him.

Unfortunately it was too late to save Mr Russell and his family have now released a transcript of the call in a bid to change emergency call procedures.

The transcript makes clear that the 49-year-old from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, had collapsed and was loudly moaning.

But the operator keeps asking Mr Russell for his phone number, even though it was automatically displayed, and even checks three times if he wanted an ambulance.

A FAMILY have released the shocking transcript of a dying man's 999 call - which ended with staff hanging up and then failing to locate him. His family have released the transcript as part of their bid to pressure the authorities into changing emergency call procedures. They want the first question to be asked the caller's address rather than number. The transcipt suggests Mr Russell would have been able to provide his address in the first seconds of his call but could not remember his phone number.

Mr Russell, who lived alone, dialled 999 at 5.45pm on July 4, 2017. When asked for his phone number Mr Russell replies ‘Hold on’ and ‘I’ve got this’.

At one point his response is recorded as: ‘Ooooooh ohhh (incomprehensible sound from caller).’ During the three-minuet call, the handler asks if Mr Russell wants an ambulance and says ‘Hello’? five times without getting an answer.

The handler ends the call despite ‘movement heard in the background’ and a ‘loud background noise’.

Three calls were made in an attempt to get Mr Russell on the phone but there was no follow up by a supervisor to make an attempt at finding the address.

Tragically, Mr Russell lay for 17 hours until a concerned neighbour overheard his alarm clock, became concerned, and called an ambulance.

He had suffered a stroke and died later in hospital.

A report from the Scottish Ambulance Service says: ‘It is evident on listening to the call that the call handler can hear noises and moaning. ‘The correct process was followed by providing three calls back, however, due to the call handler knowing that the caller was on the line before it disconnects, there could have been more attempts to confirm the address – or for this to be highlighted to a supervisor. ‘The supervisor stopped the call, whilst the notes were in the call advising that the call handler can hear noise in the background.’

Speaking today Ronald’s sister Margo Cassidy, 52, said: ‘It was really devastating to read that, especially because I think most people imagine that when you phone an ambulance the first thing they will ask is, “Where are you?” ‘We knew he had phoned an ambulance because we had his mobile.

‘When we met with the SAS the first time they told us that it had just been marked up as a silent call, but we got the transcript and when we found out that he was initially able to speak that made me really angry.

‘He died because of the lack of oxygen to his brain. ‘If you imagine that he had been asked in the first instant where he was, the result could have been totally different.’

The SAS said in February, when details of the case first emerged, that asking for a phone number was vital as it allowed handlers to call back should they get disconnected. They added that procedures had been amended for calls with no confirmed location.

Khloe Kardashian blasted for putting filter on first photo of True

by , in

Khloe Kardashian has finally graced us all with the first glimpse at daughter True. To celebrate the newborn’s one-month birthday, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared an adorable video of her baby girl with her 75.9million followers.

And while the little one looked beyond adorable in the clip, fans were left questioning why Tristan Thompson’s girlfriend decided to use a filter on the upload, giving the impression the newborn had freckles and a flower on her head.

Amid all the congratulatory messages beneath the post, one follower wrote: ‘Y’all need to Stop putting Snapchat filters on your babies.’ ‘Your baby girl is so beautiful, she definitely does not need a filter!!,’ another raged.

An Instagram user questioned: ‘Why filter a newborn? ‘Oh my gosh, True is so cute. Her name was the right choice cause she looks just like Tristan Thompson lol,’ a fourth tweeted. ‘But also, can we please stop putting filters on babies?! Khloe Kardashian and co could be trying to protect True’s and their babies identities but I doubt it. ‘Instead we’re gonna have a generation that judge babies for being ugly if they don’t look like Insta filters.’

While many more begged to see the newborn without the use of a filter. Well we think she is seriously cute, Khlo!

Nurses ‘work shifts without food or drink because there’s no time for a break’

by , in

Nurses are regularly forced to work shifts without drinking and eating because they do not have time to take a break, a new study has found.

The survey by journal Nursing Standard found that three quarters of nurses said there was no time for a break during one or two shifts every week.

More than half said they are regularly unable to have a drink of water while 57% said they did not have access to healthy or nutritious food at work.

One nurse said she had even received treatment for kidney stones because she had not been able to drink enough fluid. Another told of having a ‘total meltdown’ and suicidal thoughts because of work pressures.

Around 2,000 nurses responded to the survey – with many describing a lack of breaks, excessive workloads, hunger and dehydration as among the factors affecting their well being. One said: ‘I can’t leave the ward to go to the canteen due to a lack of staff.’

Kim Sunley, national officer for the RCN, said the findings make ‘very hard reading’.

She said: ‘It is sad that not taking breaks seems to now have become “the norm”. ‘Obviously in a crisis or emergency, absolutely, you wouldn’t go on your break, but when it becomes the norm that you don’t, that is unsustainable and leads to sick, exhausted and worn out nurses.’ The topic of hydration is due to be debated at the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) annual conference in Belfast.

Dad ‘shot daughter’s two dogs dead as punishment for not doing dishes’

by , in

A dad is facing animal cruelty charges after his teenage daughter accused him of killing her two dogs to punish her for not doing the dishes.

Charges were filed against 35-year-old Jeffrey Don Edwards of Harrah, near Oklahoma City, on Wednesday.

Edwards’ 17-year-old daughter told investigators her father got mad at her on Tuesday because the house was messy and the dishes were dirty.

Investigators say the girl’s mother came to get her, and when she returned Wednesday, her dogs were missing.

An uncle then allegedly told her Edwards had shot them to teach her a lesson.

Messy sink full of dishes

The dogs’ bodies were found around 100 yards from the house, police said. Mr Edwards denies the accusation, saying it is ‘a complete lie’.

He said he was at work at the time and declined to comment further.

Oklahoma County court records show Edwards has since been charged with animal cruelty. His ex-wife, Danielle Depee, said both of the couple’s children were stunned by the incident. She said: ‘They are devastated and in shock that their dad would hurt them that way. Both my kids never thought he would do what he did.’

Depee, who said she has been divorced from Edwards since 2007, said the couple’s 17-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son lived off-and-on with their father at his home in Harrah, and that the dogs lived there, too. ‘My kids believe he deserves the punishment he gets,’ Depee said. ‘They want nothing to do with their father.’

Azealia Banks and Cardi B drags each other on Twitter

by , in

Female rappers, Azealia Banks and Cardi B dragged each other on Twitter after the Harlem artist's controversial interview on The Breakfast Club.
It all started after Azealia appeared on The Breakfast Club on Friday, where she discussed some topics like Donald Trump, Kanye West, her upcoming music, as well as her previous criticism of Cardi B.
When confronted about calling the Cardi B “an illiterate rat” back in February, she said:
“When I look at black women’s culture as a whole thing and then you think about the media and the power the media has … the media has the power to make anyone at the forefront,” she says. “I think that it’s very concerning to me that this conversation surrounding back women’s culture changed.'
“I feel like maybe two years ago the conversation about black culture was really reaching an all-time high. We were really discussing the power among ourselves. Then everything just changed. Then, it was like Cardi B.”
Banks went on to describe Cardi as a “caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with.”
“If my spelling and grammar was that bad I’d be cancelled,” she says. “If Nicki Minaj spelled like that, they’d be ragging on her all day. When it comes to this female rap thing that we have, I don’t understand how we go from Beyoncé and Lemonade and Solange and all these great conversations to like … this. I know we’re not monolithic but come on.
“It’s not that [she’s a stripper]. I feel like you guys use everything to make this bigger than what it is. I just don’t understand the extreme lack of couth. I’ve never seen that. I’ve never seen that at the forefront of female rap. I didn’t know that the bar would be lowered so much. It was kind of like a culture shock. When you’re talking about this female rap thing — bitches that really push their pen, girls that live, breathe and sweat this art thing — I just feel like it’s unfair to the real institution of female rap.”

Shortly after the interview aired, Cardi took to Twitter to hit back at her critics for constantly dragging her out.

Banks whose Twitter account was suspended in 2016 following a series of racially charged tweets attacking singer and former One Direction star Zayn Malik, responded by tweeting from another account @cheapyxo which also has been suspended this morning.
Here are her tweets below.

Malaysia’s new PM becomes world’s oldest leader at age of 92

by , in

Malaysia’s new prime minister has become the world’s oldest leader at the ripe old age of 92. In a stunning political comeback, Mahathir Mohamad was sworn in 15 years after he stood down.

The former strongman came out of retirement and defected to the opposition to take on the National Front, which has held power in the Muslim-majority country for 60 years.

The National Front’s leader Najib Razak was swept aside after his reputation became tarnished by a corruption scandal and an unpopular crackdown on dissent.

‘We need to have this government today without delay,’ Mahathir, 92, said before Malaysia’s king at the state palace in Kuala Lumpur.

‘There is a lot of work to be done. You know the mess the country is in and we need to attend to this mess as soon as possible and that means today.’

Mahathir was Malaysia’s prime minister for 22 years until stepping down in 2003 and was credited with modernising Malaysia, but he was also known as a heavy-handed leader who imprisoned opponents.

He emerged from political retirement in anger at the corruption scandal at 1Malaysian Development Berhad (1MDB), a state investment fund by Najib, his former protege.

The US Justice Department says $4.5 billion was looted from 1MBD by associates of Najib between 2009 and 2014.

This includes $700 million found in Najib’s bank account and a $23 million pink diamond necklace bought for Najib’s wife.

He has denied wrongdoing. Mahathir said the new government will not conduct a witch hunt, but Najib will have to face the consequences if he has broken the law.

Mahathir has said the new government would seek the release and full pardon of Anwar Ibrahim, an opposition icon imprisoned on sodomy charges.

Anwar, who was also imprisoned under Mahathir following a power struggle, said the charges were fabricated by the National Front to crush his opposition.

UN nuclear watchdog inspections chief quits without notice

by , in

The chief of inspections at the UN nuclear watchdog has resigned suddenly, the agency said on Friday without giving a reason.

The departure of Tero Varjoranta comes at a sensitive time, three days after the United States announced it was quitting world powers’ nuclear accord with Iran, raising questions as to whether Tehran will continue to comply with it. Varjoranta, a Finn, had been a deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency and head of its Department of Safeguards, which verifies countries’ compliance with the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, since October 2013.

He will be replaced in an acting capacity by the head of the department’s Iran team, the Vienna-based IAEA said. A spokesman said: ‘Mr Tero Varjoranta has resigned effective 11 May 2018.

‘The director general has appointed Mr Massimo Aparo, acting director, Office for Verification in Iran, as acting deputy director general and head of the Department of Safeguards, effective immediately.’

The accord signed by Iran and major powers in 2015 imposed strict limits on Iran’s atomic activities to help ensure they are not put to developing nuclear bombs in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions against Tehran.

The IAEA is policing those restrictions and said on Wednesday, the day after Trump’s announcement, that Iran was still implementing its commitments under the deal.

The U.N. watchdog has also repeatedly defended the landmark agreement, saying it is a gain for nuclear verification. ‘The agency’s safeguards activities will continue to be carried out in a highly professional manner,’ the spokesman said.

Asked why Varjoranta had resigned, he said: ‘The agency cannot comment on personnel matters, which are confidential.’ IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano plans to appoint a permanent replacement as soon as possible, he added.

AT&T chief lobbyist out after hiring Trump attorney, Cohen

by , in

The chief lobbyist for AT&T is leaving the company after hiring of President Donald Trump's attorney Michael Cohen as a political consultant.
In a memo to employees, AT&T's CEO Randall Stephenson said that Bob Quinn, senior executive vice president of the external and legislative affairs group, will retire.
Stephen said that the company made a "big mistake" in hiring Cohen as a political consultant. While everything the company did was legal, Stephenson said that the association with Cohen was "a serious misjudgment."
Stephenson noted that the company's reputation has been damaged and that the vetting process used by its team in Washington "clearly failed." The Washington team had hired Cohen under a one-year contract that paid $50,000 a month.
The Justice Department is seeking to block AT&T's $85 billion purchase of Time Warner on the grounds that it would stifle competition. AT&T disagreed, sending the battle into a federal trial. U.S District Judge Richard Leon is expected to issue a ruling next month.
Cohen, according to AT&T, said that he was leaving the Trump organization to do consulting for a "select few" companies that wanted his opinion on the president and the administration.
The company was contacted by investigators with special counsel Robert Mueller, it provided "all information requested in November and December of 2017.
There has been no communication with Mueller's office since then, the company said.
