Robert Downey Jr 'Iron Man' was paid N3.6 billion for his role in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Hollywood actor, Robert Downey Jr was reportedly paid $10 million ( 3,607,194,530.08) for his eight minutes role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

According to figures released by Variety, the 53-year-old actor who has played Iron Man since 2008, appeared in the Marvel movie for eight minutes and raked up a profit of $10 million.

Speaking on filming the movie in a previous interview, Downey Jr said: 'I genuinely had a blast. I just love Spider-Man so to me being able to participate in reintroducing Spider-Man to a new generation or giving kind of a really back to, that's why it's called Homecoming.'

The Iron Man star who is regarded as one of the movie industry's most in-demand performers, and the first of the Marvel characters to hit the big screen was previously reported he have made $40million for his supporting role in Captain America: Civil War.

Iron Man suit used in Marvel's 'Avengers' films missing

Los Angeles police are investigating the disappearance of an expensive Iron Man suit worn by Robert Downey Jr. from a Pacoima warehouse.

According to Officer Christopher No, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, the costume, valued at $325,000, vanished from a prop storage warehouse in the 13000 block of Weidner Street sometime between February and late April.

The authorities said that the crimson-and-gold costume which was used in the original 2008 Iron Man film, which starred Robert Downey Jr was reported missing Tuesday, after employees at the warehouse "just happened to check" and noticed the costume was gone.

Cardinal Dolan says Rihanna borrowed one of his Miters for Met Gala

While Piers Morgan and some members of the public are criticizing the Met Gala's Catholic theme (Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination), which they say is a "mockery" of the Catholic church, a Catholic church leader has made light of the situation and says he sees nothing wrong with it.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the head of New York’s Roman Catholic diocese, was present at Monday night’s $30,000-a-head Met Gala. He attended both the opening of the exhibition and the Met Gala.

Rihanna stood out at the Met Gala in her bejeweled papal-looking cap and Cardinal Dolan jokes that the miter Riri wore was a loan from him.

Cardinal Dolan said in a Tuesday interview on SiriusXM’s The Catholic Channel: "The news said she was wearing a tiara."

Cardinal Dolan then went on to explain that it wasn't a Tiara, but his miter, which is worn by bishops and cardinal on formal liturgical occasions.

He added: "She gave it back to me this morning. … She was very gracious."

Dolan agreed that the miter was a good match for Rihanna's beaded white corset dress with matching jacket and clutch.

He joked: "I was teasing my auxiliary bishops, who were teasing me about Rihanna and I said, 'Hey, you guys should not complain because she’s volunteered to do some confirmations'."

He continues: "There were some aspects that looked like kind of a masquerade party, a Halloween party. I didn’t really see anything sacrilegious, I may have seen some things in poor taste, but I didn’t detect anybody out to offend the church."

He added: "A number of people came up and spoke about their Catholic upbringing and things they remembered and it was a powerful evening."

Dolan admitted he’s no fashion expert and said he wasn't at the event for the fashion.

He said: "You think I’d look like this if I was interested in fashion? You think I wouldn’t lose 80 pounds? You’re talking about a JCPenney’s Big & Tall man — that’s where get my fashion, OK?

"You know I wasn’t in there for the fashion, the glitter."

Dolan went to the Met Gala for the displays of actual Catholic relics on loan from the Vatican. The Met Gala theme this year was based on a new exhibit of Vatican-loaned artwork and vestments called "Heavenly Bodies". He admitted he was a "tad apprehensive" about attending the Met Ball, but ball host and Vogue editor Anna Wintour had assured him that organizers would rein in the out-there fashion choices of previous years.

At the exhibition, he said: "What’s the Church doing here? What is the Cardinal-Archbishop of New York doing here? Well, because the Church and 'the Catholic imagination,' are all about truth, goodness, and beauty…"

North Korea releases three Americans held hostage in the country

President Donald Trump has just announced that three American citizens held for months in North Korea have been released.

Kim Dong Chul, Kim Hak-song and Kim Sang Duk were freed during US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's second visit to the North Korean capital of Pyongyang in two months.

The detainees are returning to the United States as Trump prepares to make history by becoming the first sitting US President to meet face-to-face with a North Korean leader.

Trump's administration had previously said that if the North Koreans freed the three Americans, it would be viewed as a goodwill gesture ahead of the planned summit between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Catholic Priest who attended the 2018 Met Gala reveals what some female celebrities told him at the event

Rev. James Martin, a Jesuit priest, and author was one of several Catholic leaders who attended this year's Met Gala which exhibited “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”

The Catholic priest who turned heads at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in New York, has revealed some of the remarks he got from some female celebrities about the priestly clothes he was wearing.

According to him, he told he was the "best-dressed dude here, bro," while another said, " he dressed up as a sexy priest."

Here is what he wrote on Twitter: "Actually said to me at the #MetGala tonight: 'I love your costume.' 'Is that, like, for real?' 'Funky outfit!'" the priest tweeted later. "'You're the best-dressed dude here, bro.' (High fives me.) 'You look just like the real thing.' And, truly: 'I love that you got dressed up as a sexy priest.'"

Niko Chromatic Is Dead, Disc Jockey Loses Battle With Kidney Disease

Famed dancehall DJ Niko Chromatic has died.

The popular sound system selector, aka disc jockey, of Chromatic Sound, passed away on Tuesday following a long battle with kidney failure. Niko Chromatic, whose real name is Nicholas Grant, was diagnosed with renal failure back in 2015 and over the past two years, his health has been on a steady decline. Last year a Gofundme account was created to raise funds for the dancehall disc jockey to get a life-saving treatment for his illness overseas.

A number of dancehall entertainers and fans donated to the Niko Chromatic Medical Fund including NotNice who gave US$1,000. He didn’t get the treatment he needed in time and succumb to the disease on Tuesday in the hospital. He needed US$50,000 for his medical expenses.

Last year November a benefit concert was held in Kingston which saw a few local celebrities turning out to support the fundraising efforts. Artists like Tommy Lee Sparta, Bugle, and Vershon were at the event.

“Niko was a beloved member of the dancehall community he is humble and kind to everyone around him and he will be missed,” sources close to the late disc jockey told Urban Islandz

Niko Chromatic is a co-founder of the famed Chromatic Sound System. Creep Chromatic and Ice are the two other founding members although Ice left the sound system in 2008. Over the years a few other members have joined the team including JR Chromatic.

Cardi B accidentally reveals she's expecting a baby girl with fiancé Offset

Cardi B, has accidentally revealed she's expecting a baby girl with her fiancé and Migos star, Offset.

The 25-year-old 'Bodak Yellow' rapper who is currently seven months pregnant implied she's carrying a baby girl after she referred to her baby as 'she' while speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the MET Gala in New York City on Monday.

She said: 'Oh, she wants to fight me! My dress weighs about 35 pounds plus baby. It's OK though, I used to go up the project stairs. Shorty weighs three and a half pounds. She do! She do weigh three and a half pounds. That's pretty good for seven months because I was born five pounds.'

Cardi B's hint comes just weeks after her sister Hennessy Carolina also referred to the baby as a girl in an already deleted Instagram post.

She wrote: She wrote at the time: 'I use to wish I was older than you just so I would've gotten the chance to carry you and give you kisses when you were a baby because you were so cute and adorable! and NOW that ur baby is coming its like it's coming true!...

"Death to America" Iranian politicians burn US flag in parliament

Iranian MPs were filmed burning a US flag and chanting "death to America" during a session of parliament, after Donald Trump announced he was pulling out of the country’s nuclear deal.

Iranian politicians held the impromptu protest inside parliament on Wednesday, the day after Trump announced his withdrawal and said he would impose new economic sanctions on Iran.

The Nuclear deal is a 2015 accord designed to ease international sanctions on Iran in exchange for a series of commitments to show the Middle East nation is not developing nuclear weapons.

To express their disapproval of Trump's decision, the MPs also burned a piece of paper representing the nuclear deal.

Iran’s parliament speaker Ali Larijani was among those officials in Tehran who said the deal could still be saved. Ali Larijani told MPs the White House’s decision was a "diplomatic show" that would only serve to isolate the US.

Ali taunted the US President by saying: "Trump does not have the mental capacity to deal with issues."

Also, today, European powers began redoubling their efforts to keep the Nuclear deal alive. The UK, France, Germany and the EU represent the majority of the seven signatories to the accord, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The others were China, the US, and Iran. France’s foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the deal is "not dead", but that the US’s actions created a "real risk" of confrontation in the region.

The 31-year-old 'God's Plan' rapper sent fans into a frenzy after it was discovered on Tuesday that he unfollowed his former collaborator on Instagram.

While presenting Rihanna with the Vanguard award on stage, he said 'She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world.

'All my adult life I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.'

Meghan Markle's dad captured reading articles about his daughter and Prince Harry at a cyber cafe

Meghan Markle's father was photographed at a public cyber cafe, browsing the internet to read up about his daughter and his future son-in-law.

Though he will walk his daughter down the aisle in 10 days, Thomas Markle Sr. has not met Prince Harry yet, so it's understandable why the 73-year-old needs to do some research.

He was seen in an internet cafe in Rosarito, Mexico, close to where he lives. According to reports, the retired television lighting director regularly visits the internet cafe because he doesn't get a strong connection at his home.

Paws for Thought | Cancer treatment in pets has come far

Chemotherapy is often a recommended treatment for pets that have been diagnosed with cancer. It helps prolong survival and maintain a good quality of life.

Chemotherapy works by damaging cells that multiply rapidly, aiming to stop the growth and spread of cancer. There are different types of chemotherapy medications that are given depending on the type and stage of the cancer being treated. An individual plan is put together by your vet and an oncologist who work closely together to ensure the best possible care is given.

Chemotherapy is well tolerated in dogs and cats. Side effects that occur are usually mild and recovery is quick.

Potential side effects are nausea and we will usually give anti-nausea medications to try to pre-empt this, and bone marrow toxicity, which causes low cell counts in the pet’s blood, so we do a lot of extra blood tests, sometimes even weekly, when a pet is treated with chemotherapy to catch this before it causes an issue.

Hair loss does not tend to occur in pets because they mostly do not have hair that grows continuously. Exceptions are breeds like the poodle.

Most chemotherapy is given via intravenous injection. It is very important that these medications do not go outside of the vein and are therefore given via an intravenous catheter. Less commonly there are chemotherapy medications that are given via an injection under the skin or into the muscle, some are even given orally. The pet has to stay at the clinic for a few hours for the treatment but then is fine to go home afterwards. Sedation is not normally needed.

It is amazing how far we have come in the options we can offer and treat out pets with to help them live long happy lives.
