Take a bow, Cristiano Ronaldo!
Cristiano Ronaldo broke yet another record as he opened the scoring for Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final clash with Juventus. Giorgio Chiellini admitted Juve would have to ‘contain’ Ronaldo in the first leg on Tuesday night, with the forward in blistering form for Madrid since the turn of the year. However, some dreadful defending from Juve in only the 3rd minute allowed Isco acres of space on the left flank and the Spaniard put the ball on a plate for Ronaldo in the box
Ronaldo’s strike means he becomes the first player in the history of the Champions League to score in ten consecutive games in the competition.

The Portuguese was already holding the record with former Manchester United team-mate Ruud van Nistelrooy. Van Nistelrooy scored 12 goals in nine consecutive matches for the Red Devils back in 2003.
‘Lots of teams have conceded goals to Cristiano,’ Chiellini said in his pre-match press conference. ‘He is someone who can make a difference and we’ll look to contain him. ‘However, we know that Real Madrid have many other dangerous players.’
Ronaldo has now scored 22 goals in all competition for Madrid in 2018.
