Goal Keeper Vincent Enyeama escapes football fans Attack in France

Former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama escaped being attacked by Lille supporters in the wake of their 1-1 draw with Montpellier in the French Ligue 1 during the weekend. Vincent Enyeama was presumably not with the team for the game at Stade Pierre-Mauroy (Villeneuve d’Ascq) as he was not named to Lille’s provisional squad.

About a hundred Lille fans ran to the field and went to the players of their team after the final whistle, they began to insult the players and threatened them because of the bad results of the team this season

One of the fans hit Lille striker Nicolas Pepe in the leg, defender Adam Sumarao was also struck and the president of the club Gerard Lopez was insulted.

Reacting to the incident, Vincent Enyeama posted on social media :

‘’How did we get here.the last time losc had fans on the pitch was for celebration.the real fan/supporter will always stay behind the team no matter what.good or bad times.tousensemble#onestlelosc#ilfautpasoublie.’’

After 29 rounds of matches in the French Ligue 1, Lille are sitting second bottom with 28 points. Enyeama has a contract with the club until the end of the 2018-2019 season.

Fans of struggling French club Lille charged onto the pitch to confront, insult, and threaten the players who drew with Montpellier 1-1 on Saturday. At the final whistle, fans spilled onto the field at Stade Pierre-Mauory.

Striker Nicolas Pepe was kicked in the leg by one fan and there were more flashpoints between fans and players as stewards struggled to control the situation.

Defender Adama Soumaoro was also reportedly struck. A line of stewards formed on the side of the pitch to hold back about 200 fans, who were chanting insults at the players and at president Gerard Lopez, just days after Lopez met with fan groups on Monday.

They had reportedly assured him they would back the team until the end of the season, but the truce crumbled in seconds.

“You’re dirtying our jersey, you’re dirtying our jersey,”

The horde of irate fans chanted at the players. Lille are next-to-last with only nine games left and fans issued a threat if things don’t improve. “If we go down, we’ll take you down,”

some of them sang as Lopez shook his head disapprovingly from the stands. Stewards initially struggled to stop fans from entering the tunnel to the dressing rooms.

Givenchy, French Fashion Icon dies at 91

French aristocratic fashion designer, Hubert de Givenchy, who has been in the fashion industry for more than four decades, dressing the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Grace Kelly and memorably Audrey Hepburn, in a little black dress, in the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” died on Saturday. He was 91.

New York Times reported that his very first show, a smash hit with retailers and the press when it was seen in February 1952, when Givenchy was just 24 years old, included the “Bettina blouse,” a tribute to his original muse, Bettina Graziani, the leading model of Paris of the day who had joined his fledgling company as the director of public relations, saleswoman and fit model.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Givenchy came to the attention of the young Ms. Hepburn, a rising star who was so charmed by his youthful designs that she insisted that he make her clothes for nearly all of her movies, and help mold her sylphlike image in the process.

Givenchy set the template for ladylike chic in the 1950s and 1960s, and his restrained style still informs the way Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and older American and Chinese socialites dress.

In 1961, Ms. Hepburn and Mr. Givenchy created one of the most indelible cinematic fashion moments of the 20th century in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” when her character Holly Golightly approaches the titular Fifth Avenue jeweler wearing oversize sunglasses, four strands of sparkling pearls, long evening gloves and a black Givenchy dress — a slender, shoulder-baring column — that looks startlingly out of place for the early morning hour.

For generations of young women dreaming of a glamorous life in the big city, the image of Ms. Hepburn as Golightly came to represent a certain ideal, that of the rich bohemian throwing wild parties while wearing magnificently gorgeous gowns. In 2006, the dress was sold at a charity auction at Christie’s in London for $923,187.

His partner, the former haute couture designer Philippe Venet, announced his death through the Givenchy fashion house, saying he had died in his sleep on Saturday. The pair lived in a Renaissance chateau near Paris.

Photos: Football chairman confronts referee on the pitch with a gun in his belt, tells him 'You're finished'

A football chairman lost his cool and confronted a referee on the football pitch with a gun in his belt.

The ugly display occurred during Sunday's Super League game between title rivals PAOK and AEK Athenswhich ended in chaos as a pitch invasion followed a disallowed goal.

Ivan Savvidis, the chairman of Greek club PAOK also took to the pitch with a Gun in his waistband to confront the referee after Fernando Varela late goal for PAOK was ruled as offside.

The chairman reportedly told the referee: 'You're finished.'

Rival, AEK's Spanish coach Manolo Jimenez saw the firearm and claims to have heard Savvidis threatening the referee verbally.

'We didn't know if he had a gun, then we saw it,' Jimenez told Cadena SER. 'It could be seen that he was moving his hand towards his waist because he had a gun.'

Jimenez added: 'He threatened the referee right in front of me. According to my interpreter, he told him: 'You're finished as a referee'.

'I'm stunned; I don't understand it. It's the type of thing you expect to see in a Clint Eastwood movie.'

AEK will file a complaint with FIFA and UEFA.

Meanwhile, PAOK said in a statement said: 'After what happened today, PAOK chairman Ivan Savvidis is preparing all necessary procedures to protect the team and all his collaborators from the threats and attacks they have been subjected to.

'There will be relevant announcements on the issue soon.'
