And, to prove his delight, Wayne Rooney has shared a family photo of his four boys on social media.
The footballer, 32, took to Twitter on Thursday where he uploaded an adorable snap of himself with new son, Cass, posing next to his eldest three boys: Kit, Klay and Kai.
He captioned it: "5-a-side team complete! Welcome to the world, Cass".
The snapshot soon racked-up hundreds of likes and was praised by fans.
One Evertonian quipped: "Congrats Wayne. Now just make sure they all grow up as Blues!", while another said: "Four boys, eh - future looking good for England! Well in, lad".
A third added: "Congratulations in the birth of your son Cass. Beautiful photo of your '5 a side' family".
The picture comes shortly after Wayne's wife, Coleen Rooney , announced the boy's arrival on social media at 5am on Thursday.
She told her fans: "So happy to welcome our Baby Boy .... Cass Mac Rooney into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz."
It comes a week after Coleen threw a baby shower to celebrate her newest arrival with close friends and family, booking out her brother Anthony's cycling fitness studio in Wavertree, Liverpool.
The studio was decorated with pink and blue balloons to keep the sex of her child a secret, and Coleen laid on a lavish spread - plus a giant bottle of Polish vodka - for her happy guests.
Unlike with her previous pregnancies, Coleen's latest was dogged by claims of her marriage breaking down after Everton striker Wayne was caught drink-driving on a boozy night out.
To make matters worse, when he was stopped by police in the early hours of the morning, he was driving a car belonging to reveller Laura Simpson.
The office worker was quoted as saying they'd kissed and suggested they would have had sex had they not been pulled over, but she later denied making those comments during a 'car-crash' appearance on This Morning.
After months of speculation about the state of the Rooneys' marriage - sparked by Coleen moving herself and her sons out of the marital home and into her parents', then fanned by pictures of herself without her wedding ring - Coleen finally addressed the rumours.

"Wayne doesn't get portrayed for the person he is in the press, he has always had a hard time. I'm not going to list his good qualities as a person as I don't think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad," she said.
"He's made silly and selfish mistakes, some he's learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change?
"In life, you don't know what's going to happen tomorrow," she went on.
"But one thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is a dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence. I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically."
Coleen has forgiven Wayne for multiple indiscretions in the past, including cheating on her with prostitutes and having a threesome with Jennifer Thompson and Helen Wood, but said she still loves him

"It's my decision .... do I love Wayne ... yes I do. If I didn't then I wouldn't be trying to make it work," she added in her public Facebook post.
"I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don't want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that's what I want to do. I'm not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point."
Since then, the couple seem to have drawn a line under the drink-driving incident and are now going full steam ahead with building plans for their new £20million six-bedroom mansion.
The property in Cheshire boasts a cinema, swimming pool, two fishing lakes and a five-a-side pitch within 40-acre grounds - perfect for their clutch of offspring to run around in.

According to editors at TMZ, the basketball star's former fiancee Brynn Cameron has filed a palimony suit in which she criticises Griffin for flaunting his alleged romance with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star.
Brynn reportedly filed the palimony suit against him on Wednesday (14Feb18), Valentine's Day, alleging that after "cruelly embarrassing his family with his public fawning over (Kendall) Jenner," he told her he "had no intention of continuing to live with her."
“Griffin cared more about the glamour of dating a Hollywood celebrity than the day-to-day responsibilities of being a father and family man,” she alleges in the lawsuit.
The mother of Blake's two children was set to marry the NBA star in July 2017, but after declining to sign a prenup a month before the wedding, she stated he then called it off a week before the date and "immediately embarked on a high-profile affair with (Kendall)".
The 28-year-old baller and Kendall were first linked last August (17), a month after he and Brynn split, when they were spotted on a series of dinner dates in Los Angeles. Neither Kendall or Blake has commented on the nature of their relationship, but a source told E! News the pair were "hanging out" but were "never serious."

Kanye West has 'amicably resolved' his $10 million lawsuit with insurers Lloyd's of London over his cancelled Liufe Of Pablo tour.
The rapper, 40, who is married to Kim Kardashian, sued Lloyd's after the London-based firm refused to pay out citing drug and drink clauses in its contract.
Kanye's firm, Very Good Touring, sued the insurer and its syndicates claiming they were refusing to pay out by alleging his marijuana use was responsible for his medical condition.
The recording artist scrapped the remaining 21 dates of his Saint Pablo tour and was treated at a psychiatric centre in Los Angeles in November 2016 after falling ill.
A judge in California dismissed the case on Wednesday after being requested to do so by lawyers from both sides.
West's lawyer Howard King and the insurer's attorney Paul Schrieffer both said they were unable to comment, other than to say the matter had been 'amicably resolved'.
The initial lawsuit detailed how the rapper quit while playing in Sacramento, California, because of his 'strained, confused and erratic' behaviour.

Born on Snapchat, the idea of a story is that you can share a post but it will expire after 24 hours – making it a great way to share the photos that don’t quite feed on your ‘gram feed.
Up until the most recent update, you could take screenshots of people’s stories and they wouldn’t know.
Whether you had to capture your ex’s antics to roast in your group chat or save a shot of your childhood friends new kicks that you adore, the screenshot function was used by many.
Now, if you try and take a screenshot the app will give you one free pass as a pop-up message appears letting you know that the next time you screenshot that user, they will be notified.
“Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see,” it reads.
After you’ve used your free pass, people will begin to be notified if you’re screenshotting their stories.
They will see a sunburst symbol next to your name in the list of viewers.
Although it’s time-consuming, there is a way to get around the new update for you serial Instagram stalkers.
Firstly, you can load the story but before clicking on it you can turn your phone on aeroplane mode.
You can also now watch Instagram stories on the desktop version.
Here you can use your computer to take screenshots and once again, the person will not know.
