South Africans this morning vandalized H&M shops in protest of the ''monkey'' H&M advert. Members of a youth-oriented political movement stormed H&M stores across the country.
Dressed in the party’s signature red, members of the Julius Malema-led Economic Freedom Fighters protested the H&M advertisement featuring a black boy wearing a hoodie with the words, “coolest monkey in the jungle.” The image, featured in the Swedish retailer’s UK site, caused an international uproar.
Groups of protesters went to various H&M stores across the country, including several malls in Johannesburg, in the capital Pretoria, and in the northern Limpopo province.

Singer, Kiss Daniel‘s song “Yeba” despite being one of the biggest songs last year have of recent come under criticism from fans who believe the lyrics promotes s*xual abuse.
Some fans on social media have expressed their reservations about the part of the song that goes “Uncle, stop touching“, insisting that it may be promoting s*xual assault.
The singer has responded insisting that the song does not in any way advocate s*xual harassment.
He also stated that it actually does the opposite as just after the “Uncle, stop touching” line comes “Sorry madam” from the supposed uncle.
He wrote on Twitter; “The song teaches our ladies to speak out against what they haven’t consented to and for the men to realize that if a lady says No, No means No. Apologise and don’t go further, hence the reply by the guy.. “Sorry madam”. The second ceremonial edition of the Soundcity MVP awards held in Lagos last night at the Eko Hotels Convention Centre. In its usual fashion, it was a pretty smooth event but as it is with every other award ceremony, the show has been followed by a handful of criticisms. Amongst many other things, fans have questioned the conspicuous absence of Nigerian pop star Wizkid who had no less than four nominations.
One really expected the Star Boy to show up at the event as he recently disclosed that he is currently working on a new album in Lagos.
Wizkid, however, skipped the Soundcity MVP ceremony to support Ycee at his ‘Juice Concert’ in London. The concert also held last night and Wizkid was one of the surprise acts who showed up to give guests at Ycee’s event a worthy experience.
Wizkid bagged the award for Digital Artiste of the year at the Soundcity MVP award.

Some weeks back, it was in the news that popular singer, Lil Kesh, was deported from the US. Even though the report was quite sketchy, the singer never addressed the matter till yours truly, Saturday Beats, reached out to him over the report.
In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the singer explained why he never addressed the issue. He simply said, “I was never deported from America. The news is totally false and that is all I have to say. I kept quiet about the report to make a point, which is that there is no point addressing an issue that is not true. If I had spoken, it might have appeared that I was shedding more light on the situation. But it is not true that I was deported from America.”
Recently, his colleague, Reekado Banks, made a statement during his Thank You Concert in Ibadan in which he said that he was better than Lil Kesh and that there was no basis for comparison.
It should be recalled that the two artistes had a ‘beef’ at the 2015 Headies Awards. Reekado Banks took home the award for the Next Rated Artiste, which came with a new SUV and this caused a stir as some people had thought Lil Kesh would win the award.
However, reacting to the Reekado Banks’ claims that he is a better musician, Lil Kesh simply said, “I saw the video online where Reekado Banks said that he was better than me, but I have nothing to say about that. I don’t care what anybody says, and I don’t have any feelings regarding what he said because I am just in my own world.”
Taking a trip down memory lane, the Rora singer spoke about how he felt when he was exiting Olamide’s record label, YBNL. He told Saturday Beats that even though it was a huge step in his career, he was not scared to leave the record label.
“I was not scared when I took the step to leave Olamide’s record label. I am never scared; I just knew it was the right move, so I was never scared. So far, I think the steps have helped me more as a person and as a brand. For one, I am a better person mentally and right now, I am not an instrument for the growth of someone’s business. Instead, I am instrumental to my own growth.
“Looking at the financial side as well, it was a good step. I cannot say I would reap what I have sown immediately, but every move I make now is to ensure I have a brighter future. I am doing all this for the future. When I announced that I left Olamide’s record label, some people were sceptical, but I proved them wrong by releasing hit songs. To me, there was no option of failure; it was a win-win situation. That was my strength and my fans have been so amazing in motivatting me. Thanks to my fans. With little effort, the results have always been amazing.
“Life as a label owner compared to when I was under a record label is good, but I have more responsibilities now. Life is a bit tougher now because of the responsibilities; it depicts growth and leaving YBNL was a very big step in my life,” the singer said.
Delving a bit into his private life, the singer said that he had not been in a relationship since the beginning of 2017. When Saturday Beats tried probing further, he said that he did want to talk about his private life. He said, “I don’t have a girlfriend and the last time I was in a relationship was early last year.”

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi has dragged the management of Instablog9ja, and actress Eniola Omoshalewa Eunice to court over a malicious content written about him.
He is demanding N15m in damages for defamation of character, according to a report by Punch.
Recall that towards the end of 2017 actress Eniola Omoshalewa Eunice, accused filmmaker and actor, Yomi Fabiyi, of demanding s*x in exchange for a movie role about nine years ago.
According to the woman, who is now a realtor, Fabiyi demanded for s*x in exchange for a role in a movie.
She wrote via her Instagram page, “This stupid guy, I remember my encounter with him about nine years ago when I was so passionate about acting. I was happy when I met him as he promised that he would feature me in a movie that very day.
“I was so excited, I quickly called my people that I wouldn’t be coming home as I was going to a movie location. Only for him to tell me that I couldn’t sleep in a separate room when we get to the location at Ikorodu. That we have to sleep together and he would have s*x with me before he could feature me at all. He said it was a normal thing for all actresses. I was so heartbroken. You know what this guy did when I told him I couldn’t do it? He just dropped me along the expressway in the middle of the busy road in Ketu. I cried till I arrived home. My mama consoled me like a baby (sic).”
The actor has denied the allegations and vowed to get justice. Speaking exclusively to Saturday Beats from London, where he was on vacation, the actor said that the reason why he took the matter to court was because people often feel that celebrities are easy preys for cyberbullies.
“It is true that I have dragged Instablog9ja and the so-called actress, Eniola Omoshalewa Eunice, to court and I am very sure that they have been served the court papers. The court writ came out on January 3, 2018, so I believe that the court would have served them the papers about three days after the writ came out. Everything is left in the hands of the court. I think from the day they were served the court papers, they have about 42 days to respond and when they do, the trial will start.
“Aside from the civil suit, I am confident that after the police carry out their investigation, they would also be detained for cybercrime and criminal blackmail. Social media has become so dangerous lately that anybody who has issues with you can just cook up falsehood about you and publish it on all these blogs and this could tarnish a person’s image.
Many have also wondered how they crossed paths and fell in love. Luckily,the actress has finally opened up in an interview with the Saturday SUN.
She said:
We met in South Africa. We became friends while out there and he made the first move by starting a friendship. Our initial conversation kicked off on our similar tastes in music. However, after I left South Africa, we didn’t cross paths again until some months later. We built a friendship and every other thing fell into place at the appropriate time.
On the attraction, she said
His confidence, intelligence and his bubbly personality were the first qualities that caught my attention while we had those casual conversations in South Africa. He is a fun person to be with, and he is very straightforward. I guess many of his followers on social media can attest to that by the kind of things he posts and talks about randomly. We have very similar characteristics, so it was quite easy to click with each other.
On plans for marriage, she said
Like every other relationship out there, things are to be taken one step at a time. We are happy together and that is all that matters for now.
The Soundcity MVP awards took place last night and lots of Nigerian stars turned up for the event except for Wizkid.
Davido, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Maleek Berry, Sakordie and more African stars were all present at the awards show.
Wizkid, who was nominated for 6 awards, won one, The Digital Artiste of the year, but wasn’t available to receive it himself. This is because he was in London for Ycee’s Show.
Ycee had his first headline show, the “Juice Concert” in London and Wizkid was among the headlining acts.
The show featured supporting acts like Eugy, Sona, Bella, MsBanks & Flosha. There were also surprise appearances from top acts; Wizkid, Falz & comedian Basketmouth.

Despite Davido shading Caroline Danjuma in his song ‘FIA’, The actress shared a video of herself dancing to the hit track.
Recall it all started when Caroline Danjuma accused Davido of having a hand in the death of Tagbo, the singer used his most lethal tool, his music, to respond to the actress.
Davido shaded the on-screen goddess on his massively popular song, Fia, with the now popular line, “Caroline save your drama, I don’t need (save) it for the Soap Opera.”
Davido doesn’t seem to have had enough of the shading as he sent more in the direction of the actress, on the currently trending song, “ADA.” The song was released from the archive of DJ ECool and Davido only appeared as a guest artiste but he was given enough space to rip into the movie star.
The actress seemed to be unfazed by all this as she recorded herself dancing to FIA.
