The second ceremonial edition of the Soundcity MVP awards held in Lagos last night at the Eko Hotels Convention Centre. In its usual fashion, it was a pretty smooth event but as it is with every other award ceremony, the show has been followed by a handful of criticisms. Amongst many other things, fans have questioned the conspicuous absence of Nigerian pop star Wizkid who had no less than four nominations.
One really expected the Star Boy to show up at the event as he recently disclosed that he is currently working on a new album in Lagos.
Wizkid, however, skipped the Soundcity MVP ceremony to support Ycee at his ‘Juice Concert’ in London. The concert also held last night and Wizkid was one of the surprise acts who showed up to give guests at Ycee’s event a worthy experience.
Wizkid bagged the award for Digital Artiste of the year at the Soundcity MVP award.
