XXXTentacion may have predicted his untimely death in his last Instagram Live video.
The hip-hop community is still mourning the shocking death of South Florida rapper XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, who was shot and killed on Monday (June 18th) in Miami. The “Look At Me” rapper often go on Instagram Live to talk to his fans while encouraging them to stay positive and do good, despite his controversial image. The 20-year-old star was in the process of turning his life around and this weekend he was planning to host a charity concert in his community.
In his last Instagram Live video, XXXTentacion spoke about his fears of dying too young, but says he will at least know that his music and his message will live on. “If I’m going to die or ever be a sacrifice, I want to make sure that my life made at least five million kids happy or they found some sort of answers or resolve in my life regardless of the negative around my name, regardless of the bad things people say to me,” XXXTentacion told his fans.
XXXTentacion has been battling depression and often raps about his struggles in his music. Earlier this year he released a single titled “SAD!” which became a massive hit among the young fan base in hip-hop. “Do not let your depression make you,” X said in the clip. “Do not let your body define your soul, let your soul find your body. Your mind is limitless. You are worth more than you can believe. All you have to do is dream.”
XXXTentacion is of Jamaican descent through his father who is a Jamaican from Kingston. Since learning of his death, a lot of local artists including Shenseea and Tommy Lee Sparta have shared their reactions.
At the time of his death, XXXTentacion was working on his next album. He was shopping for a motorcycle just moments before an armed man pulled up beside his sports car and shot him multiple times.
