Katy Perry rode in a vintage covertible to the Met Gala

Katy Perry commanded the spotlight when she arrived Monday night's Met Gala in New York City.

The singer donned huge feathered wings, a short gold mini dress by Versace and thigh high boots. The feathered wings were over 6-feet tall and so wide that it couldn't fit into a normal car, so she rode in a vintage convertible. 

The 33-year-old American Idol judge arrived the Metropolitan Museum of Art in style. She almost didn't make it in time as her vintage Rolls Royce stalled out about a block away from the Met Gala venue. Video shows Katy's driver trying to get the car started several times.

While waiting, Katy Perry stood up in the backseat of the car as her stylist did some last minute touchup with a handy lint-roller. After a few nervous moments, the car got started again.
