Bikini wearing young mother body slammed and beaten by police on beach

A policeman has been caught on camera repeatedly punching a bikini-wearing young woman in the head after suspecting her of drinking alcohol on a beach. Emily Weinman, 20, was body-slammed onto the sand and pinned down by officers as bystanders on the New Jersey beach filmed the arrest.

Police had suspected Weinman had been drinking alcohol on the beach and breathalysed her. She blew a negative test and then asked if ‘they did not have anything better to do with their time.’ This sparked an angry reaction from the police so they decided to arrest her by force.

A video made its rounds on social media Saturday showing police officers wrestling a woman to the ground and punching her in the head at a beach in Wildwood. The video shared on Twitter nearly 8,000 times begins when an officer has the woman pinned down and she is kicking her legs in the air. People in the background can be heard shouting "stop resisting," before the officer punches the woman in the head twice.Another officer is seen trying to subdue the woman as well. The woman who posted the video to Twitter said the incident happened shorty after 4 p.m. on Saturday.Emily Weinman of Philadelphia posted the video on her Facebook page, saying she is underage and had alcohol on the beach when officers approached her. Weinman said she passed a breathalyzer test and afterwards, police followed her as she walked away to make a phone call. "I asked them don't they have something better to do as cops than to stop people for underage drinking on the beach," the Facebook post reads, and that's when Weinman claims an officer said, "I was gonna let you go but now I'll write you up."Weinman said she refused to give the officer her name and the officer threatened to arrest her. She said as she was backing away she tripped and fell, and an officer tackled her.

The New Jersey beach was packed with people celebrating Memorial Day weekend, according to MailOnline

In the video her baby can be heard screaming as Emily is heard shouting ‘you are not allowed to hit me like that’ and ‘I’m not resisting. I didn’t do anything wrong.’

After the incident Emily vented her frustration about the police in a post on Facebook and uploaded a video. She said: ‘I had alcohol, it’s Memorial Day weekend and 90% of people are underage drinking on the beach, without a doubt.

‘I was breathalysed and it came back negative. I told them I wasn’t drinking and the alcohol was clearly closed/sealed, which the cops seen.

‘I asked them don’t they have something better to do as cops than to stop people for underage drinking on the beach, saying to that there’s so much more serious stuff going on.’

She said within seconds she had blacked out as the officers had body slammed and punched her. She said:  ‘That’s when he headlocked me by [putting] his arm around my neck, punched on me in my head and then he head locked me again but this time choking me, I was gasping for air.’

She admitted she should have been more co-operative but the heavy handedness of the police meant she had to share the video.

The officers in the video work for Wildwood Police Department who confirmed the officers had been taken off the street due to the video.

A police statement read: ‘An Internal Affairs Investigation was immediately initiated into this matter and the involved officers have been reassigned to administrative duty pending the outcome of a full and thorough investigation.

‘While Chief Robert Regalbuto finds this video to be alarming, he does not want to rush to any judgement until having the final results of the investigation.’
