Kylie Jenner sparks more engagement rumours with diamond ring emoji picture

by , in
Kylie Jenner has sparked engagement rumours after sharing a picture of her and beau Travis Scott with a diamond-ring emoji centred between the pair of them. The picture was shared on Instagram and came after she congratulated Travis on his number one song and album.

The pair are thought to have been dating for 18 months and they have a ten-month old daughter together, Stormi. Kylie has been pictured wearing a stunning diamond ring on her engagement finger for several weeks.

The reality star first sparked speculation when she was snapped in Miami Beach wearing the diamond encrusted ring on her wedding finger. She had been supporting her beau on his US tour, and in late November the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to Instagram to wish her beau good luck as he took to the stage at New York’s Madison Square Garden as part of his sell-out Astroworld Tour. And just casually dropped the H bomb.

‘The look ya give when ur hubby is performing at madison square garden tonight,’ Kylie commented underneath a photo of herself gazing sultrily into the camera. It’s the latest in a breadcrumb trail of hints left by Kylie and Travis suggesting they’ve tied the knot. Kylie previously referred to her beau as ‘hubby’ in October for the first time as she watched him perform on Saturday Night Live.

New evidence proves the bible is real as Pontius Pilate's ring is found in Israel (photos)

by , in
A ring believed to have been worn by Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect who ordered the crucifixion of Jesus, has been found in Israel, archaeologists say.
The 2,000-year-old bronze ring was first unearthed 50 years ago at Herodium, a fortress built by King Herod, but archaeologists recently examined it and found the word, "Pilatus" on the ring. The writing was found after scientists from the Israel Antiquities Authority cleaned and photographed the ring, which showed a wine vessel called a "krater", Metro UK reports.

New evidence proves the bible is real as Pontius Pilate

Professor Danny Schwartz told Israeli news outlet Haaretz:
I don’t know of any other Pilatus from the period and the ring shows he was a person of stature and wealth.
Roi Porat, director of the dig at Herodium said, "the personal connection just cries out". But others suggest that the ring might have been used by a member of Pilate’s staff to stamp documents.
The researchers wrote:
Simple all-metal rings were primarily the property of soldiers, Herodian and Roman officials, and middle-income folk of all trades and occupations.
It is therefore unlikely that Pontius Pilatus, the powerful and rich prefect of Judaea, would have worn a thin, all copper-alloy sealing ring.

Diddy Not Giving Up, Taking Things Day By Day in Wake of Kim Porter's Sudden Death

by , in
Diddy is doing his best to keep it together in the aftermath of Kim Porter's sudden death while taking on the role of dad and mom for their kids ... and he tells us the encouragement from his fans is fueling his new grind.
We got Diddy out Monday afternoon in Los Angeles after he took his kids to school and hiked Runyon ... and the music mogul said he's just taking things day by day. Diddy tells us he's doing his best to stay positive and take care of his fam.
Diddy's phone battery died on his hike and he forgot where he parked, but ya can't blame him. He's got a lot on his mind, and rightfully so. It's been less than 3 weeks since Kim died at her home.
But, it wasn't all bad for Diddy. Our photog hooked him up with a ride and a charge, and he eventually found his car.
People helping people.

Jackie Chan Admits to Cheating on His Wife and Hitting His Son 'Once': I'm 'Very Regretful'

by , in
Jackie Chan is making some shocking revelations about his personal life.
The legendary action star, 64, describes himself as a “total jerk” in his memoirNever Grow Up in which he details cheating on his wife, Joan Lin, according to an excerpt obtained by Variety.
The book was first published in Chinese in 2015 and has not been translated into English until now.
Chan has a 36-year-old son — Jaycee — with Lin, and a 19-year-old daughter — Etta Ng — from his affair with beauty queen Elaine Ng Yi Lei.
“In 1999, I made a serious mistake,” Chan wrote in an excerpt obtained by the South China Morning Post. “When the news broke about an affair I’d had that resulted in a child, the media frenzy was like a bomb going off.”
“I wanted to phone Joan but I didn’t know what to say,” he continued. “I wouldn’t be able to explain this.”
While Chan doesn’t discuss his relationship to Etta in the book, the Rush Hour star does make mention of an instance in which he hit his son “once.”
“When [my son Jaycee] was still young, I hit him once, and was very heavy-handed — directly lifting him and throwing him onto the sofa,” Chan wrote, according to an excerpt from Variety. “That time I really scared him and his mother to death, and I myself was very regretful.”
Etta, who remains estranged from Chanmarried her girlfriend Andi Autumnlast week. In April, she claimed she’d been sleeping under a bridge with her partner “due to homophobic parents.” Etta, 18, and her girlfriend (now wife) Andi Autumn posted a short video to YouTube at the time, claiming that they’ve run out of options because their friends and family have refused to offer them support.
Speaking to the website Coconuts, Elaine denounced her daughter’s claims, saying she needs to find a job.
In 2015, Etta reportedly told the Express about Chan, “He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father.”
“I would not say that he is my dad,” Etta continued. “I would say, ‘Oh, Jackie Chan, an actor.’”

Twitter reacts as Luka Modric wins Ballon d'Or 2018

by , in

The Real Madrid and Croatian superstar Luka Modric has added yet another accolade to his stunning trophy collection by winning the Ballon d'Or 2018. With this, he becomes the first ever Croat to win the most prestigious award in football.
The 33-year-old enjoyed a great 2017-18 season with Real Madrid and helped the Los Blancos win their third successive Champions League trophy. He scored two goals in all competitions last season and assisted eight for his teammates.
The midfielder also surprisingly led Croatia to the final of the FIFA World Cup 2018 and was awarded the Golden Ball at the tournament. He won the UEFA Men's Player of the Year 2017–18 accolade along with the FIFA Men's Best Player award.
Modric's triumph marked an end to the decade-long dominance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who won the award five times each in the last 10 years. Ronaldo finished as the runner-up this year, whereas Messi failed to make it to the top three of the Ballon d'Or for the first time since 2006, finishing fifth in this year's final vote.
Mohamed Salah, who enjoyed a brilliant 2017-18 season with Liverpool, finished sixth while Kylian Mbappe, Anthonio Greizmann, Kevin de Bruyne and Raphaël Varane all made it to the top 10.
Big names like Neymar, Paul Pogba and Luis Suarez all failed to make to the top 10.
This year France Football also introduced an inaugural award in the women's category for the first time since the ceremony's inception in 1956. The trophy was won by Ada Hegerberg of Olympique Lyonnais Féminin. Kylian Mbappe was named as the winner of the Kopa Trophy for the best player of the year under the age of 21 at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Scores of football fans reacted to Luka Modric's triumph on Twitter, and here is a look at some of the best tweets:

Michelle Obama just gave Meghan Markle the BEST advice ever, and we're weeping

by , in

An iconic duo.

Meghan Markle has had one hell of a year!
She married into the royal family, which caused a media frenzy, and she also announced her pregnancy.
#AD
Despite already being in the public eye before her marriage, Meghan has now become one of the most famous faces in the world.
And let's be honest, that can't be an easy thing to come to terms with.
However, the amazing Michelle Obama has given Meghan some pretty amazing advice.
In fairness, she also knows what life is like in the public eye
"Like me, Meghan probably never dreamt that she'd have a life like this, and the pressure you feel, from yourself and from others, can sometimes feel like a lot," Michelle explained, while promoting her new book.
Michelle also added a brilliant piece of advice for the Duchess:
"So my biggest piece of advice would be to take some time and don't be in a hurry to do anything."
"I spent the first few months in the White House mainly worrying about my daughters, making sure they were off to a good start at school and making new friends before I launched into any more ambitious work. I think it's okay, it's good, even, to do that."
Naturally, Michelle Obama also said that Meghan has a great opportunity to make a difference, given her position.
"I think Meghan can maximise her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she's doing something that resonates with her personally."

Arsenal and Tottenham have been charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during Sunday's north London derby.
The Football Association has sanctioned them for a mass brawl that followed Eric Dier's goal in a feisty Premier League game at Emirates Stadium, which Arsenal won 4-2.
Both sets of players and benches were involved and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sprinted down the touchline to play peacemaker.
The clubs have until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.

Jurgen Klopp Charged with Misconduct After On-Pitch Celebration vs. Everton

by , in
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been charged with misconduct for his celebrations after the Reds' late winner against Everton at Anfield on Sunday.
The German sprinted on to the pitch to celebrate Divock Origi's stoppage-time goal and subsequently apologised for his behaviour after the match.
According to BBC Sport, Klopp has now been charged by the Football Association for his actions and has until Thursday to respond to the charge.
Liverpool ran out 1-0 winner thanks to Origi's strike in the 96th minute. The substitute headed home from close range after Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had failed to deal with Virgil van Dijk's effort.
Klopp explained why he celebrated the winning goal so intensely:
Everton manager Marco Silva said he had not received an apology from Klopp after the game, per Phil Kirkbride at the Liverpool Echo.
Klopp's reaction drew mixed reaction from the football world. Former footballer Danny Mills was critical of the Liverpool boss:
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he has done the same thing before:
Liverpool midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri also defended his manager:
Sunday's victory was an important win for Liverpool, keeping them two points behind leaders Manchester City after 14 games played. The Reds are also still yet to taste defeat in the top flight this season.
Klopp can now expect a punishment for his celebrations. Paul Joyce at The Times outlined the action he is likely to face:
Liverpool return to Premier League action Wednesday. Klopp's side travel to Burnley, who are on a run of seven games without a win.

UNIPORT clears Jonathan’s doctorate degree

by , in
Former students of UniPort confirmed that Jonathan enrolled at the school and diligently finished his academic work that earned him the doctorate degree.
Fred Ezeh, Abuja
University of Port Harcourt (UniPort) Alumni Association has denied media report that former president Goodluck Jonathan was parading a fake doctorate degree he claimed to have obtained from the university decades ago.
The former students of UniPort confirmed that Jonathan duly enrolled into the school and diligently finished his academic works that earned him the doctorate degree.
National President of the association, Chris Adokeme, in a statement in Abuja, at the weekend, challenged anyone in doubt to visit the school to confirm with the school authorities or consult previous statements to get details.
He said: “UniPort had explained in different fora that former president Jonathan got his doctorate degree in Zoology in 1995, after he obtained Master of Science degree in Hydrobiology and Fisheries in 1985 and a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 1981.”
Adokeme suspected that some unnamed politicians might have begun another round of media campaign, like in 2015, to possibly tamper with the credibility of the former president, particularly as 2019 election draws closer.
He, however, challenged the columnist, Olatunji Dare, to unearth academic sleaze of many Nigerian leaders with questionable academic attainment and not the doctorate degree of Jonathan, that could be traced.

Tony Mokbel among gangland convictions at risk due to police use of lawyer as informant

by , in
A number of criminals could launch legal bids for freedom as a result of a secretive case of high-level police misconduct involving a defence barrister-turned-police informer duringMelbourne's bloody gangland war.

Court documents reveal the lawyer claimed to have helped police in as many as 386 cases, including that of notorious underworld figure Tony Mokbel, which could result in appeals from criminals applying to have their convictions quashed or sentences slashed.
At 9:00am (AEDT), suppression orders were lifted on a case decided in the High Court last month involving Victoria Police and the lawyer who represented numerous gangland figures, against the Victorian Director of Public Prosecutions.
The High Court judgement condemned Victorian police saying they were guilty of "reprehensible conduct" in encouraging the barrister to give up information about the accused and were involved in sanctioning "atrocious breaches of the sworn duty of every police officer".
"As a result, the prosecution of each convicted person was corrupted in a manner which debased fundamental premises of the criminal justice system," the court said.
Court documents revealed that the barrister, who represented Tony Mokbel and six of his associates, was also acting as a paid informant against her clients, and passing information about them to Victoria Police.
In 2015, after Mokbel and his associates were convicted, the Independent Broad Based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC) prepared a report for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), recommending that it "consider whether any prosecutions had resulted in a miscarriage of justice as a result of the conduct of a barrister acting for those persons".

Police ruled risk of death to barrister was 'almost certain'

The DPP decided there was a duty to inform Mokbel and his associates that the barrister had given information to the police about them at the same time as she was acting for them.
The barrister — who cannot yet be named — also gave information to police about other clients she was acting for.
Those clients later made statements against some of the Mokbel group.
In the months that followed, Victoria Police undertook an assessment of the risk to the barrister if the DPP was to disclose the information to Mokbel and his associates.
Tony Mokbel arrives in court in Athens
The conclusion reached was that, if the information was disclosed, the risk of death to the barrister would become "almost certain".
On that basis, the then-chief commissioner of police and the barrister asked the court to restrain the DPP from making the disclosures, arguing that it would place the barrister and their family at "extreme risk of death or other harm", and "deter future informers from giving confidential assistance to police".
They lost the case, then lost again in the Court of Appeal, which found that the judge had properly taken account of the risks to the barrister and her family, and also the risk of deterring future informers.
The court found that the risks were outweighed by "the public interest in the right to a fair trial with the assistance of independent legal advice".
Last month, the High Court denied a final attempt to stop the DPP from providing the information to Mokbel and his associates, and revoked special leave to appeal.
In its judgement, the High Court accepted that "there is a clear public interest in maintaining the anonymity of a police informer".
However, the judgment also states that this situation is "very different, if not unique, and it is greatly to be hoped that it will never be repeated".

Lawyer involved in hundreds of cases

The court found that by covertly informing against her clients, while purporting to act as their defence lawyer, the barrister had committed "fundamental and appalling breaches" of her obligations.
The court accepted the magnitude of the risk to the barrister and her family, but noted that the barrister had declined to enter the police witness protection program, "taking the view that Victoria Police cannot be trusted to maintain confidentiality".
"If [the barrister] chooses to expose herself to consequent risk by declining to enter into the witness protection program, she will be bound by the consequences," the judgement said.
The lawyer claimed the information provided helped police in hundreds of cases.
"There were a total of 386 people arrested and charged that I am specifically aware of based upon information I provided to Victoria Police but there are probably more because as you would know, I did not always know the value or use of some of the intelligence that I was providing," the barrister said in a letter to police command.
The cases included convictions over the country's largest ecstasy haul, in which more than four tonnes of ecstasy was hidden in tomato tins, and other cases involving the "Mokbel clan".
Each of the barrister's clients will be sent a letter informing them that their lawyer was providing information "about you, in a possible breach of legal professional privilege and/or in breach of a duty of confidentiality," court documents revealed.
Tony Mokbel was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2012 for masterminding an elaborate drug syndicate known as The Company.
He was arrested in Greece in June 2007, 15 months after fleeing Melbourne while on bail during a trial on cocaine importation charges.
In 2014, Daniel Andrews, who was the opposition leader at the time, refused to rule out holding a royal commission in a bid to restore faith in Victoria's justice system.
It is likely a Supreme Court judge will be appointed to review the cases to see if tainted intelligence or evidence was used to secure convictions or pressure people to plead guilty.
In 2015, a corruption watchdog investigation led by former Supreme Court judge Murray Kellam recommended the DPP consider if any convictions were compromised by police wrongdoing.
More than 30 people from rival underworld factions were killed during Melbourne's gangland war that raged between 1998 and 2010, as a result of a feud between drug kingpin Carl Williams and the Moran family.
Williams was himself clubbed to death by another inmate with the stem of an exercise bike in Barwon Prison in 2010.

FG begins insurance scheme for 104 unity colleges, pupils

by , in
The Federal Government said it had begun an insurance policy for the 104 Federal Government colleges in the country as well as the pupils.
It added that in the case of the death of a pupil, the parents or sponsors would be paid a one-off sum of N500,000 only.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who stated this in Abuja in a statement obtained by SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday, indicated that the pupils would pay N5,000 as their contribution.
Adamu said the government had started a “Student Welfare Insurance Scheme where pupils would pay N5,000 per session for the insurance cover.”
The minister added that the scheme was to ensure that no child dropped out of school on account of loss of parents or guardians.
Adamu, during the inauguration of the comprehensive insurance cover for the 104 unity schools, explained that three insurance underwriters had been enlisted, to whom the government would pay N198m.
He said the sum was to insure the school buildings and the academic content.
The minister noted that the insurance cover “for our unity schools has become the official policy of the Federal Government.”
He added, “The government has engaged insurance underwriters and brokers for the provision of the following class of insurance –Comprehensive Fire and General Peril cover for Buildings and Content of the 104 Federal Unity Colleges.
“Three insurance underwriters were appointed along with the brokers. Each of the underwriters will cover schools in the two zones (one zone from the North and the other zone from the South). The total Premium to be paid to the three underwriters and brokers is N198m only for the 104 Federal Unity Colleges.
“This will provide a total coverage of N900m only per school for buildings and N200m per school only for content.”
The minister added, “The students are to pay N5,000 only per session. The idea is to ensure that once a child is admitted into any of our Unity schools, that child will never drop out of school on account of loss of parents or guardians responsible for the payment of his or her school fees.
“In more specific terms, the policy provides for the following: Death of a student – in the case of death of a student, the parents or sponsor will be given a one-off payment in the sum of N500,000 only. In the case of death of parent or sponsor, the student will be paid the sum of N500,000 per session for a maximum of N2,500,000.
“In the case of accident of a student, N50,000 will be provided for medical expenses; and in the case of death of student or parents, N50,000 for burial expenses.”
Adamu said the government would ensure that all insurance companies involved in the scheme honoured their obligations as and when due.
He noted that the insurance policy was expected to increase enrolment in unity schools by 20 per cent.
