Did Rihanna help a pro-LGBTI politician become Barbados' new president?

Mia Mottley is Barbados' first female president

The Caribbean island of Barbados has just elected its first female president and pop superstar, Rihanna, might have had something to do with it.

Mia Mottley of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) won last week’s election, after a homophobic campaign from her opposition that used speculations about her sexuality in a negative campaign.

But her campaign received a healthy push after Barbados-native, Rihanna gave her a casual endorsement on Instagram.

Rihanna had commented on her good friend, Leandra Goodridge’s Instagram post claiming Mottley would be the next president.

‘Yeeeeeessssss… She deserves it!’ Rihanna replied.

That comment sent social media into overdrive with many people supporting Rihanna.

Mottley won the election in a landslide and will remain president for the next five years. She thanked the pop star for ‘all that love and support and blessings’.

Rihanna took to Instagram again to celebrate Mottley’s win.

‘Say hello to my new prime minister and most importantly the FIRST FEMALE prime minister of Barbados… the honorable Prime Minister @mamottley

well deserved and about time!’ Rihanna wrote.

Cardi B deletes embarrassing tweet after discovering Childish Gambino and Donald Glover are the same person

Cardi B made an embarrassing blunder on Twitter on Thursday as she tried to figure out why Childish Gambino and Donald Glover look like identical twins.

'It's amazing how Donald Glover and Childish Gambino look soo much alike,' she tweeted. 'I think they secretly the same person. So dope!'

Minutes later she tweeted: 'Wait. I'm confuse now?!'

Kim Kardashian transformed into Princess Jasmine by a makeup artist

She has previously dressed as Princess Jasmine for Halloween.

And in a new video, Kim Kardashian transformed into the Disney character once again, thanks to make-up artist Kandee Johnson.

Despite her nearly-identical transformation, the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star did not easily fool daughter North West

The video, shared to Youtube on Monday, opened with Kim Facetiming her eldest child.

The 37-year-old attempted to convince her that she was indeed the fictional princess, and assumed she could pull a fast one on North.

'It's Princess Jasmine,' Kim said.

'You're really Kim,' North replied, unfazed.

'No it's not. It's Jasmine. I have your mommy's phone. She wanted me to call you and tell you she's on my magic carpet. She's on her way home.'

Later in the clip, North noted that Kim's 'voice doesn't sound like Jasmine.'

Kim and Kandee's collaboration undoubtedly comes from the duo's involvement in the Lifetime series, Glam Masters.

Kim is an executive producer on the show, while Kandee is a judge.

The show, which is a competition series in search of a great make-up artist, wrapped it's first season in April.

Rihanna Excites Fans With Video From Her Recording Studio

Rihanna got her fans all hyped up about her new album when she posted a clip from inside her recording studio in London.

On Sunday night, LeBron James leads the Cleveland Cavaliers to a historic Eastern Conference win over Boston Celtics. The Cavs secured their place in the NBA finals making this LeBron’s eight straight finals. Seems Rihanna felt exactly how most of us felt seeing the heroic performance from King James to bring his team to three consecutive NBA finals.

Rihanna is a huge fan of LeBron James so last night she posted a clip from the end of the game on Instagram Live. Because she was in her studio, she was watching the game from her laptop and seems she couldn’t contain her excitement. While the onus of the video was to share her excitement about the game, her fans quickly noticed the background was actually her studio which means she is working on new music.

A year ago, Urban Islandz reported that Rihanna is working on her ninth studio album and a song with Buju Banton will be featured on the project. The track that she registered is titled “Phatty” and could be a sample of an old Buju Banton record.

Earlier this month, Rihanna did an interview with Vogue where she confirmed that she is working on an all-reggae album for her ninth project. The Bajan pop star didn’t divulge much details about the pending album except to say that she is going back to her reggae roots for this album.

Rihanna started her career as a reggae artist and soon transitioned into Pop/R&B music where she went on to become a global music and fashion icon. To date, RiRi is one of the biggest selling artists in music’s history and even though she has not released an album in over two years, her music is still selling more than the vast majority of active artists.
