Nicki Minaj Accused Of Culturally Appropriating Asian Culture on SNL

Nicki Minaj and Saturday Night Live are being accused of culturally appropriating Asian culture.

Nicki Minaj performed her smash hit “Chun-Li” on SNL this weekend and now she is being accused of profiting off Asian culture. The single and music video has a lot of Japanese elements and Nicki herself has used Asian culture in her music in the past including in the music video for her breakout hit “Your Love.” Still, folks on Twitter think that her use of the culture is wrong.

In her performance, Nicki Minaj had Asian backup dancers, wearing Asian outfits against an Asian-style backdrop. The rapper even wore chopsticks in her hair. Watch the full performance of “Chun-Li” on SNL below.

After the performance aired, folks took to Twitter and other social media outlets to vent about cultural appropriation. Other folks push back saying that the people complaining are reaching because Nicki Minaj has some Asian ancestry and is from a part of Trinidad that has some string Asian lineage.

Nicki Minaj new album “Queen” arrives on June 15th.

She is of Indo-Trinidadian descent, not of Japanese descent, not of Chinese descent. Go read my other tweets. I’m not about to repeat it.
But you realize Asia comprises of multiple coutnries that are very different from each other. You can use one to claim it as a whole!

If u did ur research u would know Asian culture is all over Trinidad and most not all people from the island have some asian ancestry. Nicki happens to have the Japanese in her family. Log it out boo ur done.

John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Shares Baby Boy Pics and Name

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are now the proud parents of a baby boy name Miles Theodore Stephens.

The couple welcomed the newest addition to their family on May 16th and seems they couldn’t be happier about their bundle of joy. Teigen posted an adorable photo of the toddler on Sunday (May 20). “Hello, world! This is Miles Theodore Stephens – We are drowning in his little peeps and nuzzles,” she wrote. “Our household feels overwhelmed with love. Thank you for all your well wishes!”

John Legend, 39, and Chrissy Teigen, 32, already have a daughter named Luna. The pair announced her pregnancy earlier this year and a few days ago she tweeted that she is over her pregnancy while revealing she is five days overdue to give birth.

John and Teigen got married in 2013 and two years later she welcomed their baby girl Luna. The pair met on the set of a music video shoot and that’s when they started dating.

Amber Rose Says Kanye West Is Trump In A White Man’s Body: ‘They Have Completely The Same Personality’

Amber Rose recently sat down for an interview on “The Fallen State” with conservative Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, and opened up about her thoughts on Kanye West’s political views. She said she feels like Trump and her ex are almost the same person!

“When I first saw Trump on the podium and running for president, I said, ‘Oh my gosh, that is Kanye in a white man’s body!’ I really felt like they have the same personality, completely the same personality,” she shared.

She went on to give her theory on why Kanye is being so vocal all of a sudden about his support for Trump. “I would like to think that Kanye met with Trump said ‘Look, I see these people. I knew they were going to vote for me and I used them to get elected. And I can’t tell nobody that because I want to get a second term, but now that I’m in office, I really want to make a change.’”

“Now Kanye can’t snitch on him and he can’t snitch on himself, so maybe he is thinking of the greater good of what Trump can do for the country. That’s what I am assuming,” Amber said. “Kanye is the kind of person that loves art and loves the art in things, so I think that he appreciates the politics that Trump used in order to get in office. I can only hope that Trump kind of used the white people, seems like racist white people, to get in office any maybe it’s for the greater good.”

Amber also added that she wants Melania Trump to get a divorce and because an activist.

Man Graduates With Law Degree & MBA From Two Different Schools On The Same Day!

24-year-old man by the name of #DarrellKelly has so much to celebrate as he received two advanced degrees from TWO different colleges and graduated on the same day!

Darrell received his Master of Business Administration from #Xavier University and graduated with a law degree from the #UniversityOfCincinnatiCollegeOfLaw simultaneously! Raised by a single mother, Darrell credits her to be the driving force behind his pursuit of knowledge, saying: “She’s instilled me with all these tools and has guided me for so long.”

When asked about how he accomplished working on two degrees, Darrell said: “There’s only so many hours in a day, so if you want to get to this end goal, sometimes you have to create a hierarchy of your assignments and work your way down but understand what the risks are and really plan it out so that you’re successful.”
