Chance the Rapper apologises after his tweets are praised by Donald Trump

In the midst of Kanye West's baffling Twitter enlightenment, Chance the Rapper chimed in to defend his friend, mentor, and fellow Chicago musician from what he thought was some undeserved criticism.

Many people this week were irresponsibly speculating about Kanye West's mental health after he came out in support of Donald Trump in a series of tweets that involved signed MAGA hats, Candace Owens, the Dilbert guy, and ping-pong.

Chance the Rapper jumped into the chaos on Wednesday to assert that West is physically and mentally fine.

Then, he followed that up with a couple of vague political tweets. One said "black people don't have to be democrats," and another said "Next president gon be independent."

Neither tweet is particularly salacious on its own, but within the context of West's half-formed Twitter proclamations, they both could be perceived a number of ways.

Naturally, alt-right Twitter quickly pounced at the opportunity to connect Chance's tweets to Kanye's new political views and declare the young Chicago rapper a Trump supporter.

And Trump, who gets most of his information from unreliable Twitter trolls, ran with it this morning to wrongly lump Chance into his small list of public black supporters.

Quickly after Trump's tweet, Chance took the opportunity to promptly clarify his political opinions and confirm that he does not support the president.

In a lengthy note, Chance wrote: "I didn't speak up because I agree with what Kanye had to say or because I f**k with Trump ... I'd never support anyone who has made a career out of hatred, racism and discrimination."

He went on to point out Trump's mischaracterisation of the city of Chicago, along with the president's marginalisation of black people.

What's surprising is how quickly the alt-right and Donald Trump attempted to latch on to a famous person of color to use as a political prop. Does Donald Trump know who Chance the Rapper is? Doubtful.

It's also surprising how Chance's tweets instantly got him dragged into Trump and Kanye's circle of destruction.

The “Milkshake” singer turn entrepreneur chef is now speaking out about her past relationship with Nas, telling Hollywood Unlocked that there was a lot of mental and physical abuse. A lot of folks are now asking her why now and bot several years ago and she said she did it to protect her son and out of sympathy towards the rap icon.

There were a lot of rumors that Kelis filed for divorce because Nas was cheating on her, but she said that was not the primary reason for her decision although that ultimately tipped the scale. Kelis separated from Nas and then filed for divorce when she was seven months pregnant with their son. She also said that the infamous Chris Brown and Rihanna beating saga also helped influence her decision to leave.

“When the Rihanna and Chris Brown pictures came out I thought about coming out because I also had bruises all over my body,” Kelis said. “But I didn’t say anything because I’m private. But seeing her the way she looked and then looking at myself… I felt embarrassed.”

Usain Bolt Introduced Maradona To Vybz Kartel Music

Usain Bolt is perhaps Vybz Kartel’s biggest fan.

The Jamaican sprint legend has never been shy about his love for Vybz Kartel and even in the presence of another legend, Diego Maradona, he is blaring Kartel music. Usain Bolt recently took part in a number of celebrity football games in Europe for charity and he even joined German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and was spotted in training with the team. As to when he will make his professional football debut, we don’t know.

At one of his charity games involving Argentina legend Maradona and sponsored by watchmaker Hublot, Usain Bolt was playing one of Vybz Kartel’s classics “Million Dollar.” By the way, Maradona looks like he still got that deadly left foot. There is also a good chance he doesn’t understand the words of the song.

Vybz Kartel is just two months away from his appeal trial set for July. If he failed to convince the judges he deserves a new murder trial, then he will more than likely spend the rest of his life in prison. He has been behind bars since September 2011, but still manages to have a vibrant music career.
