Kanye West Gets Hammered For Supporting Candace Owens

Kanye West is getting hammered on social media for voicing his support for controversial far-right media personality Candace Owens.

In case you have been living under a rock for the past week, let me fill you in. Kanye West is back on Twitter with a bang and not only is he dropping some new music in a matter of weeks, he is also stirring up lots of controversies. This weekend, Yeezy fired off a surprising tweet at one of the most controversial far-right media personalities, Candace Owens. “I love the way Candace Owens thinks,” tweeted.

Candace Owens ecstatically responded telling Kanye West that she would love to meet with him. “I’m freaking out. @kanyewest,” she tweeted. “Please take a meeting with me. I tell every single person that everything that I have been inspired to do, was written in your music. I am my own biggest fan, because you made it okay. I need you to help wake up the black community.

Just who is Candace Owens and why Kanye West has taken such a liking for her? She is a big supporter of President Trump just like Ye. She is also the director of urban engagement at Turning Point USA, a deeply conservative organization. Owens regularly stirs the pot on social by attacking Black Lives Matter and other stakeholders in the black community.

Aside from tweeting at Candace Owens on Twitter, Kanye West also announced that he is dropping a new album on June 1st and also dropping a joint album with Kid Cudi on June 8th.

Rihanna Congratulates Kendrick Lamar For Winning Pulitzer Prize

Rihanna is showering Kendrick Lamar with praise for winning the Pulitzer Prize in music and thus becoming the first rapper to be award with the prize.

Rihanna pretty much echoed how we all feel about Kendrick bagging such a prestigious prize, telling him that it’s carries a far-reaching effect on the next generation. On Saturday, the Bajan pop star posted a message for K-Dot that reads, “Congrats to my boy KungFuKenny on making history and winning such a prestigious award like a Pulitzer! Keep showing the kids that anything is possible man.”

Kendrick Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize for his Grammy-winning album DAMN making it the first non-classical or jazz work to earn the award. The Pulitzer board says the project is “a work that captures the complexity of African-American life,” the Boston Globe reported.

Rihanna isn’t the only big name artist showing Kendrick Lamar love on Twitter, other artists have been sounding off on his latest accolade and what it means for hip hop. Kendrick had one of the biggest albums on the planet last year with DAMN breaking all sorts of records.

Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar won the Best Rap/Sung Performance Grammy for their collaboration “Loyalty” off the album.

Security for royal wedding cost more than £6 million

The security operation for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge cost police more than £6 million, figures have revealed for the first time. Nearly £3 million was spent on overtime costs alone, with hundreds of officers drafted in to help police crowds watching the event in London in 2011. While next month’s wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle  will be on a smaller scale, Thames Valley Police are preparing for around 100,000 spectators. That will make it one of the force’s largest security operations, which will require reinforcements from other forces, including the Metropolitan Police. Ken Marsh is chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents rank and file officers in London. He said the extra hours required of officers for a combination of large operations and an “unprecedented” level of violent crime in London have become a “huge drain” and must be seen as part of a wider welfare issue which is putting front-line services at risk. Figures obtained through several Freedom of Information requests showed that, in total, £6.35 million was spent policing Kate and William’s wedding, including £2.8 million on police overtime. Of that, £3.6 million was paid by a Home Office grant to cover “additional costs”, the Metropolitan Police said.

An estimate for the total cost of the security operation put forward by the Metropolitan Police in 2011 placed the figure closer to £7.2 million, according to a previous Freedom of Information disclosure. And while the UK’s national tourism agency Visit Britain said the country experienced a 7 per cent increase in visitors between April and June 2011 compared to the previous year, those hoping for a boost to the wider economy may have been left disappointed. Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the combination of an extra bank holiday and the warmest April for 100 years contributed to a slight dip in economic activity. This included a 1.2 per cent fall in output in service industries, a 1.4 per cent drop in manufacturing production and a 1.6 per cent fall in the index of production compared with the previous month.

The policing cost figures come ahead of preparations for the next royal wedding on 19 May, and a row over police staffing levels amid claims that the spike in killings in London is linked to cuts in police numbers. Mr Marsh said: “Obviously, this is a huge drain on my colleagues in terms of the hours that they have to work.”

Trump absent as past presidents, family and friends bid farewell to late Barbara Bush

Past presidents - minus Donald Trump - family and friends came together to bid farewell to Barbara Bush, the matriarch of one of America's most prominent political dynasties, at a funeral service in Texas.

Ms Bush - wife to the 41st US president and mother to the 43rd - died Tuesday at her home in Texas aged 92, surrounded by her family.

The invitation-only service at St Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston was attended by four former presidents: George H.W. Bush - Barbara's husband of 73 years - their son George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as other former senior officials.

First Lady Melania Trump attended but her husband President Donald Trump did not, with the White House saying his decision to stay in Washington was taken "to avoid disruptions due to added security."

"My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family," Trump wrote on Twitter, saying he planned to watch the funeral ceremony.

Former president Jimmy Carter was overseas and unable to attend.

Known for her trademark faux pearls and tart-tongued comments about life in and out of Washington - but also her deep loyalty to family and self-deprecating humour - Barbara Bush was in many ways a figure more popular among ordinary Americans than her high-flying husband and sons.

She was also remembered as a woman who leavened a strong sense of decency and honour with a self-deprecating wit she employed to great effect.

Former President George W. Bush and his father former President George H.W. Bush are joined by family and friends.

"She was candid and comforting, steadfast and straightforward, honest and loving," said the historian and author Jon Meacham, who wrote a biography of George HW Bush and was one of three eulogists whom Barbara Bush herself selected before her death.

"Barbara Bush and George Bush put country above party, the common good above political gain and service to others above the settling of scores," he said.

Barbara Bush's longtime friend, Susan Baker, the wife of former Secretary of State James Baker, described her in a eulogy as a "tough but loving enforcer" whose 73-year marriage to her husband was a real-life fairy tale.

George HW Bush would write a letter to his wife on each wedding anniversary, Jeb Bush said, before reading aloud one such letter from 1994, a year after his father left the White House.

"I was very happy on that day in 1945, but I'm even happier today," he read, as his 93-year-old father squeezed his eyes shut and wept. "You have given me joy that few men know ... I have climbed perhaps the highest mountain in the world, but even that cannot hold a candle to being Barbara's husband."

As the service ended, Bush's grandsons bore her casket out of the church, with George W. Bush pushing his father in a wheelchair directly behind it.

Having undergone heart surgery in 2009, she was treated for years for Graves' disease, a thyroid condition.

As her health failed in recent days, she was moved into comfort care at her home in Houston.

Barbara Bush will be buried on the grounds of the George HW Bush Library and Museum at Texas A&M University in College Station, next to her daughter Robin, who died of leukaemia at the age of three.

Mrs Bush is survived by five children, 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
