Meek Mill Bail Will Now Be Decided By Philly Supreme Court

Meek Mill is one step closer to secure his freedom thanks to Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.
Earlier this week, controversial Judge Genece Brinkley denied Meek Mill‘s motion for a bail hearing on the grounds that his arresting officer is a known corrupt cop in Philly. The Dreamchaser rapper’s attorney wants him to be released on bond and the charges against him dropped but the judge says not so fast. Judge Brinkley filed her response earlier this week denying the request for bail arguing that Meek has repeatedly admitted to the crimes he was charged with and that his lawyer is basing his argument off a newspaper article that is not admissible in court as evidence of police corruption.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has stepped in filing a motion in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court stating that he has no opposition to release Meek Mill on bail. The MMG rapper’s attorney, Joe Tacopina is also requesting that Judge Genece Brinkley be removed from the case arguing that she has at times overstepped her bounds and acts as a prosecutor and has taken an unusual interest in Meek’s personal and professional life.
“We are encouraged by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s steadfast stance in not opposing Meek Mill’s release on bail at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court level while the current legal proceedings continue, even in light of Judge Brinkley’s vindictive and erroneous decision,” Tacopina said in a statement (via Complex).
Meek Mill is currently serving 2-4 years in a state prison for probation violation. There is no timetable yet on when the Philadelphia Supreme Court will rule on the motion.

Drake meets Doris Burke: his ESPN crush at NBA game

Hip-hop star Drake finally met his crush, ESPN analyst Doris Burke, at a Toronto Raptors NBA game on Wednesday evening.
The Toronto-bred rapper garnered much media attention recently after he was spotted courtside at a Raptors game wearing a sweatshirt with Burke’s face on the front of it. The rapper has since made no secret of his ‘woman crush’ on Burke, saying: ‘I think she’s a stunning woman, incredible at what she does. I wish she was here tonight.’
The two finally met at Wednesday’s game at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Drake, sitting courtside watching the Raptors take on the Boston Celtics, approached Burke, who was calling the basketball game on ESPN.
Drake kissed Burke on the cheek and exchanged a hug with the TV analyst before holding her hands and chatting with her for a few moments.

Burke later revealed that she was very ‘appreciative’ of Drake’s kind words, saying to fellow analyst Mike Been that ‘… he made my life a hell of a lot more fun for a couple of weeks.’

Who is Doris Burke?

Doris Burke is a basketball analyst for ESPN and ABC.
Burke was born in West Islip, New York on November 24, 1965.
After graduating from Providence College, she started her broadcasting career in 1990 as an analyst for her alma mater. She soon began covering women’s and men’s college basketball and later offered WNBA coverage on ESPN starting in 1997.
In 2017, after years of covering the NBA Finals, WNBA and college basketball, Burke became the first woman to become a regular season NBA analyst on ESPN.
In February 2018, Burke was selected to enter the Basketball Hall of Fame as the recipient of the 2018 Curt Gowdy Media Award in recognition of her long and often groundbreaking broadcasting career.

TONTO DIKEH SHARES THE WORD OF GOD WITH HEAVY MAKE-UP PICTURES

Nollywood Actress, Tonto Dikeh took to Instagram earlier today to share the word of God, encouraging her fans to preach the Gospel with boldness.
She wrote:
Good morning beautiful people of God,(ROR)
PREACH THE GOSPEL WITH BOLDNESS *…every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world (1 John 4:3).*
To better understand what we just read in our opening scripture, it’s important to read the next verse, which is 1 John 4:4. It says, *“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”*
There’s an antichrist spirit in the world; there’re those who simply hate everything about Jesus, but they’re not a factor, because you’ve already overcome them.
Sometimes, we’re almost tempted to not share the Gospel with such people, because we don’t know what their reaction might be; so we become hesitant; no!
Refuse to be intimidated by their affront or effrontery; proclaim the Gospel with the consciousness of the power it bears, and the consciousness of the greater One who lives in you.
Paul said, *“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek”* (Romans 1:16).
The Gospel is for everybody; it’ll produce results in the life of anyone who hears and believes it.
But for them to believe, they must hear it first, and that’s where you come in, for they can’t hear without a preacher (Romans 10:14).
Therefore, be bold to preach the Word everywhere and to everyone.
The Holy Spirit in you will speak through you. He’ll confirm your words with signs following (Mark 16:20).
Understand that you’re the bearer of His glory and righteousness to the world; you’re the dispenser of His mercies and grace.
You’re His partner in soul winning, and He’s fortified you for the job; do it unafraid!
Through you, He’s delivering men from darkness, into light, and from the power of darkness unto God.
He’s establishing His righteousness and expanding His Kingdom in the earth. You’re not walking in your own strength

Naomi Campbell congratulates rumoured boyfriend Skepta as he is made an actual Nigerian chief

Naomi Campbell is one proud ‘girlfriend’, congratulating Skepta as he is conferred with Chieftaincy title in Nigeria. The British model, who is of Jamaican descent, and British-Nigerian rapper Skepta are rumoured to be dating and have been in Nigeria for some time now. Following a little misunderstanding with the President of Nigeria on Friday, Naomi, 47, tweeted out congratulations to the 35-year-old rapper from London. Posting a picture of the Shutdown rapper in his traditional clothes and holding up his certificate, she wrote: ‘Congratulations Chief Joseph Olaitan Adenuga!’

The 2016 Mercury Prize winner attended a ceremony in his family’s hometown of Ijebu Ode, Ogun state yesterday and was conferred with the honourary chieftaincy title Amuludun of Odo-Aje. The rapper, real name Joseph Adenuga, is of both Yoruba and Igbo ethnicity and proudly showed off a video of the ceremony to his followers on Instagram. His caption reads: ‘Thank you to the Baale, Chiefs of Odo Aje and King for presenting me with my Chieftaincy title today. ‘I am honoured and will continue to put time and love into Nigeria, especially the community of Odo Aje.’ So now we have to address the That’s Not Me hitmaker as Chief Skeppy? Incredible!

Skepta was in Lagos, Nigeria for Monday’s Boy Better Know: Homecoming concert which took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. BBK, an acronym for Boy Better Know, was founded by Skepta and his younger brother and grime artist JME – and was also attended by Star Wars actor John Boyega who was pictured with Naomi Campbell, Skepta and British rapper J Hus at the event. The concert happened days before Naomi Campbell and the President of Nigeria struggled to get their stories straight on social media.  A picture of President Muhammadu Buhari with Naomi stirred up a massive conversation online after Naomi claimed to have been invited by the retired Major General in the Nigerian Army – and the presidency swiftly responded with a disclaimer.

Naomi first claimed the President invited her to the launch of Eko City while the presidency insisted she ‘bumped’ into His Excellency and requested for a picture. The model of Jamaican descent quickly deleted her initial tweet to match the 75-year-old’s disclaimer. Naomi first tweeted, but deleted: ‘Was a pleasure to be invited by His Excellency The President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to the private launch of Eko Atlantic @NGRPresident @MBuhari.’

The personal assistant to Buhari, Bashir Ahmaad, tweeted the presidency’s version of events. Ahmad wrote: ‘For the sake of clarity, President @MBuhari didn’t invite Ms. Naomi Campbell to any event during his 2-day visit to Lagos State. ‘They only met at the Eko Atlantic City while Mr. President was touring the project, and she requested to take photos with him.’

After deleting the post, Naomi replaced it with: ‘Was a pleasure to meet His Excellency the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to the launch of Eko Atlantic. Here for Arise Fashion Week.’ You can’t blame Naomi for her excitement over visiting Eko Atlantic as it’s pretty spectacular. The brand new coastal area is reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean, sprawled on a land area of approximately 10 square kilometres in highbrow Victoria Island, Lagos.

Meek Mill Case: Judge Denied Second Bail Hearing Request

Meek Mill is not getting out of jail anytime soon.
The Maybach Music Group rapper was denied a second bail request by controversial judge Genece Brinkley. Meek Mill‘s attorney Joe Tacopina filed a motion requesting a new bail hearing, as well as, requesting that his client be granted bond on the grounds that his original arresting police officer is corrupt. Retired Philadelphia police officer Reginald Graham was ousted as a known corrupt cop.
Judge Brinkley filed legal documents outlining her reasons for denying Meek’s bail request. She argues that one, the “Dreamchasers” rapper’s attorneys needed to file their motion within a year after his original arrest which would be in 2009. Two, she argues that the article in the local Philly newspaper that broke the corrupt cop story wide open is based on old police documents that were readily available to lawyers, TMZ reported. She also added that the article isn’t even admissible in court as evidence.
Thirdly, Judge Genece Brinkley argued that Meek Mill has admitted his guilt in court repeatedly in the past. The rapper was arrested in 2008 and charged with weapon and drug charges. He has been on probation for several years.
Meek Mill’s attorney will argue in court that they didn’t know about the police corruption until 2018 when they filed their legal documents. He is currently serving 2-4 years in prison for violating his probation from that arrest and now his fate is at the mercy of one of the toughest judges in Philly.
The prosecutor in the case, as well as, the Governor of the state all says they are not objecting to his release from prison base on the corruption scandal. But the judge is saying that not because other convicted felons have gotten out of prison as a result of the cop’s corruption means that Meek Mill should also be released.
