The world's oldest message in a bottle ever discovered was stumbled upon on an Australian beach by a group of walkers.

The group who found the bottle and the message in it are the first people to read the note since June 12, 1886. The group, which included the parents of Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, shook the bottle and a damp, rolled-up parchment that looked like a cigarette fell out.

The large rectangular bottle was found half-buried in sand dunes on a beach near Australia’s Wedge Island. And after weeks of research and investigation, it has been confirmed as an authentic find that was thrown from a German ship into the Indian Ocean. 

Kym Illman said his wife Tonya spotted the object while walking with Grace Ricciardo, and initially dismissed it as rubbish.

He said: "She thought, 'that looks nice, that’ll look good on my bookshelf'."

After warming the 132-year-old note in an oven, they established that the message written in German contained instructions asking the finder to send details of where and when it was found. Mr Illman used Google Translate to decipher the rest of the text. It is believed to have been thrown from the German sailing ship Paula as part of an experiment to research ocean currents and find faster shipping routes, the Western Australian Museum said.

Ross Anderson, the museum’s assistant curator for maritime archaeology, said: "Extraordinary finds need extraordinary evidence to support them, so we contacted colleagues in the Netherlands and Germany for help to find more information.

Incredibly, an archival search in Germany found Paula’s original Meteorological Journal and there was an entry for 12 June 1886 made by the captain, recording a drift bottle having been thrown overboard. The date and the coordinates correspond exactly with those on the bottle message."

The message in a bottle was verified as authentic by Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency and National Meteorological Service, and will go on display at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle.

Kenny Bachman was enjoying a night of partying in West Virginia in late February when he drunkenly called an Uber for a lift back home. While this is typically the responsible thing to do, the problem for Bachman was that he lived almost 300 miles away.

The 21-year-old’s wild night started when he hitched a ride to West Virginia to drink and hang with his high school friends who went off to college. After partying at a frat house and spending some $200 at a club, Bachman figured it was time to go home, so he called an Uber XL (an option the company offers for groups up to six people) to pick him up. But he doesn’t remember any of this, he says, because he blacked out before the 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan arrived.

“Literally, that’s all I remember,” Bachman tells PEOPLE. “I don’t remember ordering the Uber. I don’t remember leaving the club, nothing. I just woke up in an Uber.”

When he asked the driver what was going on, Bachman learned he had fallen asleep for the majority of a five-to-six-hour car ride from West Virginia to his home in South New Jersey. He didn’t even have the bags he brought with him for the trip—those were still at his friend’s house, hundreds of miles away. 

“I was like, where am I? Who’s this dude sitting next to me?” he recalls. “So many other things could have happened, like, for instance, I could have been kidnapped for all I know. I had no idea. As soon as I woke up, I started interrogating the dude.”

But this wasn’t the end of Bachman’s problems.

Because he had ordered the Uber during a surge period—and was paying for an Uber XL, though he was the only passenger— it meant the price of the ride was going to be at least double the cost than it normally would. Not only that, Bachman says the driver had gone through multiple toll roads without paying, and he expected Bachman to reimburse him with cash.

The Uber driver eventually dropped Bachman off at a CVS near his home in Washington Township. After he handed the driver $20, Bachman learned the total of his cross-state trip would come out to a whopping $1,635.

Uber did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

“I was just so shocked it even happened and that I had to pay that amount of money, so I had to let it sink in for a while,” Bachman says.

Though he tried to dispute the cost of the ride, he was told by the company to foot the bill, though they did give him back the $20 in cash he gave the driver.

“I feel I was taken advantage of for my money,” Bachman, who works at UPS, says. “[The driver] knew I was drunk, but I’m saying, maybe he should have been like, ‘Yeah, this is wrong. Maybe you shouldn’t get in here or something.’ ”

Bachman recently set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money to cover his trip’s expenses. Today, a New Jersey-based meal prep company, Eat Clean Bro, has offered to pay his bill in appreciation for him not driving while under the influence. Bachman says the proceeds he raises will now go to charity.

Jimmy Kimmel struck back at President Trump during his monologue on Tuesday night after Trump tweeted a dig at the Academy Awards show for its low ratings.

While Kimmel, who hosted the Oscars, responded to the president on Twitter, noting that Trump had the lowest approval rating of any president in history. He also responded to the presidential address during his monologue on Tuesday night’s episode Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY,” the president tweeted the morning after the Oscars. “Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore — except your President (just kidding, of course)!”

“Of course he’s kidding,” Kimmel cracked. “He’s not narcissistic.” Kimmel added that he had tweeted back at him, “Thanks, lowest rated President in HISTORY,” commenting on the president’s low approval ratings. Kimmel seemingly couldn’t help but also note that his tweet received many more likes than the president’s.

A teenager who had a very flat tummy and was still getting her periods monthly was surprised to give birth to a healthy baby after she began experiencing pains which she thought was period cramps.

Charlotte Thomson, now 21, from Newcastle, had no idea she was pregnant three years ago. She was still fitting into her size 8 clothes and was having regular periods. The party-loving teen was also drinking alcohol regularly. One night, she woke with excruciating pain and was rushed to the hospital where doctors told her she was in labour. Three hours later, Charlotte gave birth to daughter Molly, now two.

Charlotte, a nursery nurse, says: "My stomach was completely flat, and I’d been having regular periods so it was such a shock when I found out. I didn’t believe that I was actually pregnant until I gave birth.

"It was scary becoming a first-time mum with no warning. But I wouldn’t change Molly for the world, and I feel so lucky."

In November 2015, Charlotte, then 19, was a typical teen who partied every weekend and wore skin-tight dresses. That month, Charlotte noticed she’d put on 3lbs and was more sleepy than usual.

She says: "I thought it was from going out all the time. I still managed to get into my clothes so I just ignored it."

But, a month later in December, Charlotte awoke in agony at 2.30am.

Charlotte continued: "I took some paracetamol and hoped that it would blow over. Instead, the pain just got worse and I was in agony. An hour later I felt like I was going to be sick so I ran to the toilet and saw that my underwear was full of blood.

"I had just finished my period so I was really scared. I knew something was seriously wrong and booked a taxi to the hospital."

That night at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital, Charlotte was admitted to a ward where nurses examined her. As Charlotte was screaming in pain, a doctor told her that they needed to chat to a midwife. Charlotte was in total disbelief, and she had no idea she was pregnant. In fact, she told the doctor it must be a mistake as she’d had no previous symptoms. But ten minutes later, a midwife performed an ultrasound on Charlotte’s stomach and gave her the surprising news that Charlotte was going to be a mother.

Charlotte explained: "She revealed that I was nine months pregnant and I was in labour. I couldn’t believe it as my belly was completely flat. I panicked that I wasn’t prepared and hadn’t bought any baby clothes. I was so worried about what my parents would say when they found out that I was having a baby."

At 4.30am, a nurse called Charlotte’s parents to reveal that Charlotte was pregnant.

Charlotte says: "My parents thought that I was only a few weeks along and having a miscarriage. I burst into tears when they arrived, and told them I had no idea that I was pregnant. They were really supportive and excited about their first grandchild."

Two hours later, Charlotte gave birth to Molly, now two, weighing 6lb 15oz.

"As soon as I held Molly, I loved her so much," said Charlotte. "She was perfect and we had an instant bond."

Surprisingly, doctors revealed that Molly was healthy despite mum Charlotte drinking throughout her pregnancy. They explained that she’d had no bump because Molly had been tucked up underneath her ribs.

Charlotte said: "It’s crazy to think that I’d been carrying a baby all that time. Then Mum called my work to explain that I’d had a baby, they were gobsmacked as they’d seen me the day before with no baby bump at all."

Since becoming a new mum, Charlotte hasn’t even struggled to lose any baby weight as she had none to begin with.

She said: "Luckily I’m still a size 8 and didn’t need to lose any baby weight."

Kim Kardashian has taken to Twitter to defend her husband's fashion brand, Yeezy, following negative reports.

The reports making the rounds is that Kanye West had invited Paris Fashion Week buyers to a showroom without any clothes. A Yeezy fan account claimed in a since-deleted post that Yeezy Season 7 wouldn't include any apparel or accessories, saying Kanye "couldn't do what he wanted to achieve with this collection."

In a series of tweets, the E! reality star defended her husband then said the Yeezy fan account was fake.

She tweeted:  "How can a verified account represent Yeezy with false information. You do NOT work for Yeezy and NOT affiliated. How are you gonna believe an account that posts fake color ways."

In another tweet, she said: "Season 6 was genius. All of my Japan looks are season 7 & will be online soon. Yeezy does not play by fashion rules. The show room was strictly shoes & always intended for that."

Kim Kardashian also said she's "made calls" regarding the issue. Meanwhile, Kanye has not commented.

Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos has officially been named the richest man in the world, after taking the top spot on' Forbes' 32nd Annual World Billionaires 

According to Forbes, Bezos is the first centi-billionaire at the top of the list, meaning he has a fortune of over a $100 billion. Bezos' fortune jumped more than $39 billion from 2017, which Forbes says is the biggest one year gain on the list and ever in history. 

The Amazon CEO is also the only person to ever appear on the list with a 12-figure fortune.

His fortune reportedly rose to $112 billion, allowing him to dethrone Bill Gates, who is worth $90 billion. Gates has been the richest person in the world for 18 of the past 24 years.

According to the financial report, the top 20 people on the list alone are worth $1.2 trillion, 13 percent of the total fortune of all billionaires worldwide.

DJ Khaled has spoken of his love for his son in a touching video which serves as an open letter to the tot and his fans.

In the video, which explains the meaning behind the name of his upcoming album Father of Asahd, Khaled shares home footage of Asahd, now 16 months, and reveals how much becoming a father has changed his life.

"I have an important message for you. It’s a message about the master key of master keys. I’m talking about love," he says in the voiceover. "Love can change everything. It’s changed me... My son, Asahd. He is my legacy, my love, my lion. That’s what Asahd means: Lion."

Despite being a few months short of his second birthday, Asahd has already experienced many of the finer things in life. The video shows the toddler hanging with his father everywhere from the red carpet to the back of yachts. And Khaled also shows his son his love in other ways - such as when he bought him a $100,000 (£72,000) diamond watch when he celebrated his first birthday at Miami's LIV nightclub.

"Every morning I tell Asahd, ‘I love you. I got you’," Khaled continues in the video. "But the truth is, he’s got me. He’s what gives me hope and purpose. He’s my inspiration and motivation... I got everything from my mother and father. Now I’m grateful for the one who’s coming after me."

The producer and his fiancee Nicole Tuck welcomed Asahd in October 2016.

The highly-anticipated record is expected to feature Khaled's new single Top Off, which features Beyonce, JAY-Z and Future. In the track, many people have assumed that Beyonce makes a dig at Kim Kardashian, as she raps: "I’m the only lady here, still the realest n**ga in the room. I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two.”

Kim provoked quite the response over a rather unusual image she posted to her Instagram of ‘Little Louis’. ‘Louis’ is a snake whose skin appears to have been ‘printed’ with both the famous Louis Vuitton logo and a gold and purple pattern.

Unsurprisingly, the post prompted a divisive reaction from her fans, with many taking to the comments section to criticise Kim for posting the image. While some commenters were keen to argue that ‘Louis’ had been Photoshopped – with others even pointing out that the image of the snake was in fact years old – that didn’t stop many fans from registering their outrage. ‘Is this f. REAL???’ one asked, while another ranted: ‘Yeah that’s cruelty….in Japan they even have baby turtles in plastic pockets with water as a necklace?! That’s all bad. Poor snake’.

Other fans saw the post in a different light, however, with one commenting: ‘Is that Taylor Swift?’ Ouch. Look, it’s likely that Kim only stumbled upon the probably-Photoshopped image during a casual Google search. But won’t somebody think of poor ‘Louis’? He’ll be looking for a royalty cheque after all this attention…
