It took him nine games, but Lionel Messi has finally broken through against Chelsea finding the net in the 75th minute to level the Champions League match 1-1 at Stamford Bridge and cancel out Willian's earlier strike.

The game ultimately finished 1-1, with Barcelona having the opportunity to take advantage in the second leg at the Camp Nou on March 14. Chelsea had been one of the 12 teams that the Barcelona star had faced in his career without scoring against, and one of two remaining in the current Champions League.

Mary J Blige performs to large crowd in South Florida... after news her New Jersey home will sell at a loss of over $5M

by , in

She's been the darling of award season and now she's back on stage.
Mary J Blige performed for an excited audience at Hard Rock Live in Sunset, Florida on Monday night.
Although the Grammy Award winning singer is at the top of her game professionally, she's not doing so well in every aspect of her life.

Major loss: Through all her triumphs, she's had to deal with many problems including the sale of her New Jersey house

Blige, who wore an electric blue jumper with a black belt for her concert, is set to lose millions on the sale of her New Jersey home, according to Variety.
The palatial home she bought in Saddle River back in 2008 cost her a whopping $12.3 million. The trade reports that she has put it up for sale for just under $7 million.
'Even if Blige manages to land a full-price buyer, she's still faced with a pocketbook-punishing loss of more than $5.3 million, not including carrying costs, improvement expenses and real estate fees,' the report reads.

Just fine: She's also going through a highly publicized divorce with her manager Martin "Kendu" Isaacs
No more drama? She's currently paying him $30,000 a month of spousal support

Blige, who is paying back the IRS millions of dollars, filed for divorce from her manager Kendu Isaacs in 2017 and is currently paying him $30,000 a month spousal support.
The 13,000 square foot home is located 25 miles out of midtown Manhattan and boasts eight bedrooms and nine full and three half bathrooms.
The three-story mansion comes fully equipped with an elevator and an added en suite staff bedroom by the kitchen.

Millions to lose: The multiple Grammy Award winner is set to lose million on the sale of her New Jersey home

Other features detailed by Architectural Digest includes:  two formal dining rooms, a huge basement with a rec room, swimming pool, and gym, all overlooking an indoor half-court basketball court, a 14-seat movie theater and a climate-controlled walk-in wine cellar.
An entire pavilion next to the swimming pool in the backyard even has, in addition to its own bathroom, a complete kitchen.
Blige attempted to sell the property numerous times.

Saddle River: The French chateau is currently on the market for just shy of $7 million

In 2011, she put the home up for sale with an asking price of $13.9 million but no buyer was found.
She lowered the price in 2015, attempting the unload the property for $13 million before lowering it to $11.9 million months later.
Blige knocked another million off leaving it at $10.9 million in 2016.

Ouch: She purchased the home for $12.3 million cash in 2008

According to Zillow, taxes for the property will be $85,000 +/- after a tax appeal.
The singer's divorce is also yet to be finalized. She is due in court to face-off with her ex in March.
'I'm living,' Mary told Variety about how she's doing after their split.

So fun: The home boats a wine cellar, a personal gym and a theater

She continued, 'I'm not happy about a lot of things. I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn't, and now he's coming after me for all my money.
'When you come out of something like that, you realize you were never the one. There was someone else that was his queen. I got played. I got suckered.
'I have to keep smiling and keep my spirits up because this is designed to kill me.'

What a steal: The home is priced to sell which will be important since she's going to court to battle her ex in March

BBC to launch its first 3D news documentary which will give viewers the power to point the 'camera' where they want

by , in

The BBC will launch its first virtual reality news documentary today, giving viewers the power to point the ‘camera’ where they want.
Audience members watching Damming the Nile VR through a special virtual reality headset will feel as though they are at the heart of the action without ever leaving their chair.
They will be able to direct the camera through 360 degrees simply by turning their head. This gives viewers the ability to examine peripheral details, such as birds overhead.
Presented by the BBC’s Africa correspondent Alastair Leithead, the programme will follow the continent’s longest river and examine the fallout of a controversial damn being built in Ethiopia.

But instead of a traditional BBC report, Mr Leithead effectively invites watchers to take a virtual trip with him.
Viewers feel like they are part of the production crew as they squeeze in among the crowds on a busy tram or go on a virtual hot air balloon ride above Egypt.

At one point, Mr Leithead offers viewers a glass of water as they sit around sharing a meal in a restaurant. He said: ‘The story-telling is not like TV and it’s not like radio. It’s a bit of both.
‘Once you put on a headset and enter the virtual world, you come with us on assignment to Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt to explore their issues up close, and understand the politics of the Nile through a unique new perspective.’

BBC’s Africa correspondent Alastair Leithead will present the programme. Viewers will be able to direct the camera through 360 degrees simply by turning their head

Zillah Watson, head of BBC VR Hub, said: ‘We want to create high-quality mobile VR pieces that give audiences experiences they can’t find anywhere else. Damming the Nile VR does this by making you feel like you’re there, unearthing the story as you go.’
The project is part of a scheme to pioneer virtual reality television in the same way the Corporation did with colour television in the late-1960s.
The BBC has pledged to make a small number of VR shows to ‘get people excited’ about the potential and to help kickstart Britain’s VR industry.
However the content must be tailored to the devices of different technology companies. To watch Damming the Nile at its best, viewers must download the BBC VR app on a Samsung phone and use a special headset costing at least £40.
They can also watch it via YouTube on an iPhone using a cheap cardboard headset.

Doctor Who fans are furious after Peter Capaldi plans to charge £75 for an autograph at London Comic Con

by , in

His spell as the Time Lord divided viewers.
But now former Doctor Who Peter Capaldi has outraged fans by charging £75 for an autograph.
The 59-year-old actor, who is one of the main draws at the annual London Comic Con, is giving a talk at the sci-fi-led event.
But has come under fire for demanding such a high price for his autograph.
He also asks attendees to fork out £65 for a photograph with him – or £225 for a 'diamond pass' consisting of an 'exclusive mug, photo, autograph and priority seat'.
While some fans welcomed the news last night, declaring the Scots star to be a 'huge signing' at the three-day event at London's Olympia, others were less than impressed.
Writing on a Facebook fanpage, John Hogg posted: 'I feel sorry for younger fans. I think this is just taking the p*** – most autographs are average price £20-40.'

Richard Cambridge posted: 'That's out the box. I'm going to sound old [but].... in the late 80s it was free to get 3 or 4 autographs from one guest.'
Pearl Mackie, the Doctor's companion Bill Potts in the last series, is also charging £35 for an autograph and photograph at the event in July whilst Colin Baker, who played the sixth incarnation, is charging a mere £15 per autograph.
Capaldi played the role from 2013 until the end of last year, and split opinion among fans. Viewing figures averaged around 7.9million under Christopher Eccleston, but fell to 5.5million during Glasgow-born Capaldi's tenure.

Capaldi starred in Doctor Who (pictured) from 2013 until the end of last year and will appear at the event later this year

by , in

Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg have joined forces with George Clooney to each donate $500,000 to the March for Our Lives rally on Washington in support of gun control following last week's shooting at a Florida high school that left 17 dead.

Winfrey announced in a tweet on Tuesday that should would match the $500,000 donation from Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
'George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives,' Winfrey tweeted.

Winfrey announced in a tweet on Tuesday that should would match the $500,000 donation from Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney

'These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard,' she added.
Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, where a 19-year-old former student is accused of going on a rampage with a semiautomatic AR-15-style assault rifle on Feb. 14, are assisting in planning the march.
George and Amal were the first to make the financial pledge and also said they will march alongside the students behind the rally on March 24.
The Clooneys said they plan to bring their eight-month-old twins Ella and Alexander whose 'lives depend' on a change to gun laws.
In a statement, Clooney, 56, said: 'Amal and I are so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women from Stoneman Douglas High School.
'Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country, and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we're donating $500,000 to help pay for this groundbreaking event.
It is the Clooneys' latest good cause.
In September, the couple pocketed between $200million and $300million from the sale of George's tequila company, Casamigos.

George and Amal (pictured in October 2017) were the first to make the financial pledge and also said they will march alongside the students behind the rally on March 24
The March for Our Lives will take place in Parkland, Florida, on March 24

They vowed to use the money on charitable causes that were close to their heart.
Among those was the education and housing of a Yazidi refugee who they have been putting up in Kentucky.
They also pledged $20million to their foundation, the Clooney Foundation for Justice.

Jeffrey Katzenberg and his wife Marilyn have also donated $500,000 to the march

Other March for Our Lives events have been planned for Ohio, Washington DC, New York City and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Everytown for Gun Safety is helping with the arrangements for each.
Later on Tuesday, Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw said they would match the Clooneys' donation.
Spielberg and Capshaw, in an emailed statement, said: 'The young students in Florida and now across the country are already demonstrating their leadership with a confidence and maturity that belies their ages.'
