Photos: Couple involved in road accident three weeks after their lavish wedding in Malawi; husband dies on the spot

Newlyweds, Peter Malenga and Nyenyezi Kambuwa were involved in a fatal motor accident on Saturday, January 27, just three weeks after their wedding.

Peter died on the spot while his wife was injured and is receiving treatment at a hospital. The couple tied the knot in a lavish wedding on January 6, 2018.

It was gathered that the accident occurred along the M1 Road close to Central Poultry Limited, Lumbadzi, Lilongwe.

Accoring to local media, the newly weds were driving from Kamuzu International Airport in a Toyota Dyna Reg. No. BLK 9644 and were not aware that part of the M1 road along the Central Poultry stretch was undergoing maintenance.

"Vehicles coming from the direction of Lumbadzi had been stopped to pave way for vehicles coming from Kanengo side, as only one lane was available due to the Maintenance. They resorted to overtake the stationary vehicles and unfortunately rammed into a truck head on." the report say.

Peter died from head injuries, broken legs and lost lot of blood. Nyenyezi Kambuwa sustained injuries on her hips and is receiving treatment at Luke Daeyang Hospital.

Peter was from TA Champiti in Ntcheu while Nyenyezi hails from TA Malili in Lilongwe, Malawi.

NBC bans Olamide’s latest hit single, 'Science Students'

Though Olamide has explained severally that his latest smash hit song "Science Students" is aimed at fighting drug abuse, the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has slammed a Not-To-Be-Broadcast (NTTB) warning on the song.

The warning was served to all radio and television stations last week. Confirming the news, NBC’s Head of Public Affairs Hajia Maimuna Jihada told Tribune that the song was not out-rightly banned but prohibited from being played on local stations for public consumption.

She said:

NBC does not ban music. Our mandate is on what goes on Radio and TV. Olamide’s Science Student has been declared ‘Unfit for broadcast’. She further went on to mention that the song’s subtle promotion of illegal drugs was the main reason for declaring it unlawful as she issued a stern warning to all broadcasting houses; We have communicated all our licensees for compliance or they will face sanctions

Trump hits back after Jay-Z calls president 'superbug' in racism debate

Donald Trump duly hit back at Jay-Z on Sunday, after the rapper rejected the idea the Trump presidency has been good for African Americans and called the president a “superbug” in a discussion of his reported racist remarks.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, appeared on CNN’s The Van Jones Showon Saturday night.

Asked how he felt when Trump reportedly called African countries “shitholes”, Jay-Z said: “Yes, it’s disappointing and hurtful. Everyone feels anger. After the anger, it’s really hurtful because he’s like looking down on a whole population of people.”

The rapper said Trump’s reported comment – which the president has denied – was “how people talk … behind closed doors”.

He then compared the remark, allegedly made in a meeting with senators, to a recorded phone conversation involving the then LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling which cost him control of the NBA team in 2014.

Sterling’s public downfall, Jay-Z said, led “all of the other closet racists [to] just run back in the hole”.

“You haven’t fixed anything,” he said. “You have sprayed perfume on the trash can. What you do when you do, that is the bugs come. You spray something and you create a superbug because you don’t take care of the problem.

“You don’t take the trash out, you keep spraying whatever over it to make it acceptable. As those things grow, you create a superbug. And then now we have Donald Trump, the superbug.”

Jay-Z qualified his remark by saying: “I’m being funny, I say that, too.”

But he said: “Somewhere along his lineage, something happened to him. Something happened to him and he is in pain and he is expressing it this sort of way.”

Jones than asked the rapper about Trump’s claim, made repeatedly on Twitter, to have dropped African American unemployment to record lows.

“Does he have a point,” Jones asked, “that maybe the Democrats have been giving us good lip service, but no jobs. He may say terrible things, but putting money in our pockets. Does that make him a good leader?”

Jay Z answered: “No, because it’s not about money at the end of the day … money doesn’t equate to happiness. It doesn’t. That’s missing the whole point. You treat people like human beings … that’s the main point.”

On Sunday morning, the president tweeted: “Somebody please inform Jay-Z that because of my policies, Black Unemployment has just been reported to be at the LOWEST RATE EVER RECORDED!”

The fact-checking website Politifact says claims by Trump and members of his administration including his daughter about African American unemployment are “right on the numbers but leave out economic gains … under Democratic control”.

According to federal government figures, African American unemployment dropped to 6.8%, a historic low, in December 2017. But it did so, like Hispanic American unemployment, having “declined dramatically on Barack Obama’s watch”.

Jones also asked if, given that Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy visited the Obama White House, would the couple’s new twins, Sir and Rumi, visit Trump?

“No,” said Jay-Z. “Not a shot. We won’t be invited, first of all.”

To Jones’s suggestion that Trump could be “the first hip-hop president”, because he was “getting beast with people … I like bling … I got a plane”, the rapper demurred.

“He [Trump] doesn’t have the struggles, right?” he said. “That’s the key. That’s the key.”

David Otunga calls ex Jennifer Hudson a liar as custody battle gets nasty

David Otunga has called Jennifer Hudson a liar after she claimed in court he didn't have a job.

The 36-year-old former American Idol star announced her separation from the 37-year-old wrestler last November (17), and the couple have since been involved in a bitter custody battle over their eight-year-old son David Daniel Otunga Jr.

According to court documents obtained by U.S. gossip site The Blast on Thursday (25Jan18), Jennifer plans to file a motion asking a judge to compel David to "seek employment" and "maintain a job diary" in an effort to prevent her from having to pay him spousal support.

Now, David has angrily responded to her claims, and called his former fiancee a liar.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, he alleges Jennifer knows he is employed by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He said her claim was "ironic" because five years ago, The Voice judge reportedly ordered him to choose between his career with the WWE and his family.

He also claims he's working on other entertainment projects, and accused Jennifer of focusing on money rather than on the care of their son.

After their split, the Dreamgirls star filed court papers requesting a restraining order, accusing David of displaying "aggressive, threatening and harassing behaviour" - allegations he vehemently denied. Police officers dropped a domestic violence investigation into David earlier this month (Jan18).

The warring couple have exchanged legal barbs, with Jennifer also filing to have her ex-fiance's motion asking the judge to sanction her for contempt of court to be tossed out.

David has accused Jennifer of hypocrisy for demanding he be barred from speaking to the media about their custody battle, while still releasing her own statements on the matter.

But the fans needn't have feared because after taking time out, probably to focus on her own health and well-being, Rihanna has made an explosive comeback.

Taking to Instagram the eight-time Grammy Winner shard a snap of herself wearing a strapless white corset top which shows off her tattooed chest and a brown fur coat hanging off her shoulders. She completed the look with fiery red sunglasses and rouge lips.

The caption simply read: "Rude" along with two fire emojis.

Scores of her elated 59.2million followers couldn't contain their excitement, flocking to her comments section to show their appreciation and gush about her looks.

"She's back. Thank you babe for this picture," one person said, while another added: "We missed you so much. You are the best @badgalriri."

A third wrote: "I think a war just broke out and riri ain't taking no prisoners."

Riri is nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance Grammy for her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar; she will also be performing alongside DJ Khaled and Bryson Tillerwhich at tonight's (28 January) ceremony, which will be hosted by James Corden for the second year in a row.

Jay-Z: Beyonce and I chose to fight for our love

The hip hop star has apologised for being unfaithful to his superstar wife.

Jay-Z has spoken about mending his marriage to Beyonce after his infidelity.

The rapper, who apologised to his wife for his unfaithfulness on his latest album 4.44, said it was important to him to fight for their relationship.

He told The Van Jones Show on CNN: “It’s my soul mate, it’s the person I love.”

He added: “You can love someone but if you haven’t experienced love, and you don’t understand it and you don’ t have the tools to move forward, then you’re going to have complications and you can either address it or you can pretend until until it blows up at some point

“For us, we chose to fight for our love. For our family. To give our kids a different outcome. To break that cycle for black men and women.

“We were never a celebrity couple, we were a couple that happened to be celebrities. We are real people.”

On the title track of the record he rapped: “I apologise, often womanise. Took for my child to be born. See through a woman’s eyes.

“Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles. Took me too long for this song. I don’t deserve you.”

The couple have a daughter, Blue Ivy, six, and twins Rumi and Sir, born in June 2017.

The musician, real name Shawn Carter, also shared his thoughts on the #MeToo movement, saying: “I believe everything happens for a reason, everything is a learning experience, the good, bad and ugly.

“This had to happen to purge itself. For men who have been in positions for so long, if you’re in that position of power, to abuse that power, you get drunk off success.

“It’s human nature if you go unchecked. It takes a really special person to have that sort of power and not wield it in the wrong way.

“It has to happen, this movement and everything that is going on and what we are finding out, it’s like everything else, it’s like racisim, it existed the whole time.

“It’s almost like we normalised it, the normalisation of the things we have to do to survive.

“For women to go to work knowing that this sort of abuse was happening every day, you can look logically and say, ‘Why would you stay there?’ ”

“What is the alternative? You have to survive in America. In order to survive you have to normalise it. So for it to get uncovered and the world to correct itself, this is what has to happen.”

Rita Ora ends feud with Jay-Z?

Rita Ora seems to have burred the hatchet with former label boss Jay-Z after heaping praise on the rapper when she was a guest at his pre-Grammys Clive Davis gala in New York on Saturday night

Rita Ora appears to have ended her feud with former Roc Nation label boss Jay-Z.

The 'Anywhere' hitmaker may have quarrelled with the 'Numb' hitmaker in the past, but since settling a six-month legal battle with the label in June 2016, Rita doesn't seem to be holding any grudges.

Speaking on the red carpet at the rapper's annual Clive Davis pre-Grammys gala in New York on Saturday night (27.01.18) - where Jay was honoured with the Recording Academy's President Merit award - Rita gushed: ''Oh, he's so smart. To start it off, his brain is always working, he doesn't miss a thing.

''I think that the biggest skill to be able to see 360 and still be the biggest star in the world.''

It may be that Rita has channelled all of her frustration towards Jay into new song 'Soul Survivor'.

The busty blonde beauty called out the rapper on the track, which features on her second studio LP - the follow-up 2012's 'Ora' - and anyone else who didn't believe in her at the very start of her career.

The 27-year-old singer was being sued for $2.4 million by the '99 Problems' star's company because they believed she had breached the terms of her contract.

However, the lawsuit was settled and Rita signed with Atlantic Records.

Speaking about the track, she said: ''It's all based on what people stopped me from doing a few years ago to where I am now.

''It's almost like a rebirth of the new Rita.

''It's a nice final goodbye to everyone who didn't believe in me from the start.''

The 'Body On Me' hitmaker - who recently dropped a soundtrack for the 'Fifty Shades Freed' movie with Liam Payne called 'For You' - says that the record tells it like it is, and is not all doom and gloom.

She said recently: ''It tells a consistent story.

''I thought about it a lot and I just wanted people to feel like they were on a journey with me, so I am really proud of it.

''This album is really calm and it has really calm messages, it just is what it is.''

Rihanna 'house-hunting with boyfriend in Paris'

Rihanna is reportedly planning a move to Paris with her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel.

The popstar and Hassan, both 29, were spotted enjoying a romantic getaway in the French capital earlier this month (Jan18).

However, a well-placed insider has now claimed that the couple were also looking for a home in the city, as it acts as the "perfect midway-point" between New York, where Rihanna often works, and Hassan's home base in Saudi Arabia.

"Paris is a six-hour flight from both New York and Saudi Arabia so it's a good compromise," the source told Britain's Grazia magazine. "Rihanna has been looking for a property in Paris for a while and they've spent a lot of time there together. They both absolutely adore the city."

The source also stated that the duo, who have been dating since last spring (17), initially considered London before settling on the City of Lights, and are apparently "particularly keen" on the Saint-Germain quarter.

Rihanna and businessman Hassan have avoided attending public events together throughout their relationship, and reportedly believe that Paris will be better suited to their low-profile relationship.

"It gives them much more privacy than the U.S. or U.K., which is a huge draw for Rihanna. She almost feels free in Paris and she finds she identifies with French people, who know their own minds," they added.

The reports of Parisian house-hunting come after it was recently revealed that the star is renting out her West Hollywood home for $16,500 (£11,800) a month. Some have speculated that Rihanna's move away from Los Angeles may mean she now plans to focus more on her Fenty fashion label, which she showed twice during Paris Fashion Week, as well as Fenty Beauty.
