“Malta Guinness has placed me on a pedestal, and I intend to reach for the moon and beyond”- Lemmy Adejo

by , in

Lemmy and his crew won the regionals for the Malta Guinness Street Dance Competition in 2009. He is also the star of the new Malta Guinness Advert. In this edition of our “Goodness to Greatness” series, we caught up with Lemmy and he talked about all the amazing work he’s been doing since winning the Malta Guinness Street Dance Competition.

?Malta Guinness has placed me on a pedestal, and I intend to reach for the moon and beyond?- Lemmy Adejo
Q. What motivates you to dance?

A. The PASSION I have for dance is my major drive. When I started dancing it was never about the money, the money started coming in eventually, but the passion never dwindled. I was driven by the fun, the excitement, and the sense of purpose dance gave me. I wasn't always a dancer, I was an actor first. My love for the arts generally led me to study theatre and film arts, in the University of Jos, where I majored in dance. I see dance as a text in motion. A means of expression, where you let your body speak. My love for dance and the art in general is my motivation.

Q. How did you hear about the Malta Guinness street dance?

A. It was in 2009, a friend and a member of my group (Transformed Generation), Franklin Patrick, saw the advert online, and printed out the form. It was an opportunity we weren't ready to forfeit.
?Malta Guinness has placed me on a pedestal, and I intend to reach for the moon and beyond?- Lemmy Adejo

Q. How was the Malta Guinness Street Dance experience?

A. After finding out about the competition, I put a team of six together, we called ourselves ‘HIS GOLD’. We left Kaduna for Jos. On our way to Jos, it was early, about 4am, and we were stopped by armed robbers, they mounted roadblocks, it took the grace of God, and the driver's skills to manoeuvre around the robbers and the roadblocks. It all happened so fast, it was the first time someone ever pointed a gun at me, even though the driver never stopped, and it was super scary. That did not stop us.

We got to Jos, competed, we were favourites, but we didn't win. So we decided to move to Enugu to try out that region; amidst the lack of money, and nowhere to sleep, we still competed; and still we didn't win. We didn't give up, we moved to Benin and changed our name to “Isaiah 54 (i54)” where we eventually won.

Malta Guinness Street Dance gave me my first pay check in dance after five (5) years of dancing without payment. Winning the regionals was Eighth Hundred Thousand Naira (N800,000), that was a lot of money. It was then I knew I could actually make a career out of dance.

Malta Guinness Street Dance gave me some of my most treasured experiences. The priceless bond it created between me and my brothers Oche (GG), Franklin(eff ell), Felix (firm), Ajibola (above), promise (kiss), and my humble self, LIGHTwas my stage name.

Q. What did you do after Malta Guinness Street Dance?

A. After Malta Guinness Street Dance, I tried out other competitions, won a few, lost some. I lost my dad in 2009 just after the competition, the struggle to hustle with dance and see myself through school at the same time, wasn't easy. But God saw me through. I haven't stopped dancing since then. I've done a lot of stage performances with a lot of A-list music artists, travelled to represent Nigeria in the Abu Dhabi international dance Festival; I became a Choreographer, and a dance director. I was the assistant dance director on the famous TV show "Dance with Peter", I have choreographed and directed major productions, some of which I'm not at liberty to mention. Starred in major theatre and Broadway productions like Saro the musical by BAP productions, heartbeat the musical by Lufodo (Olu Jacobs and Joke Silver), Gula by de classical productions, to mention a few.

?Malta Guinness has placed me on a pedestal, and I intend to reach for the moon and beyond?- Lemmy Adejo

Q. How did you become the star of the Malta Guinness Advert?

A. I heard about the casting from Mr. Wale Rubber, he sent the address to me and I showed up and auditioned like every other artiste. Honestly I can't say how I became the star of the ad; I guess I was just being myself.

Q. In the commercial, you go out to solve problems, is that something you do? Or want to do every day?

A. The character in the commercial (Abu) is who I am in reality. I'm a problem solver, whether or not I can solve the problem, I put in effort. It's who I am, I take care of things, and I take care people.

?Malta Guinness has placed me on a pedestal, and I intend to reach for the moon and beyond?- Lemmy Adejo

Q. What role would you say Malta Guinness played in fuelling your greatness and helping you actualize your dream?

A. I would start by saying DANCE IS TAKING OVER. Dance is the future of entertainment in Nigeria. Right from the days of Malta Guinness street dance Africa, I've always wondered what it would feel like, to be the face of the brand, to be the brand ambassador, I'm not there yet, but I'll get there. So far so good, Malta Guinness has placed me on a pedestal, and I intend to reach for the moon and beyond. This is just the beginning, it's not pride, but I'm the next big thing. Thank you Malta Guinness.

"From the deepest recesses of my heart, I plead for forgiveness"- Dethroned Miss Akwa Ibom Teen tenders apology to organisers, shares covered up photos
''AN APOLOGY LETTER FROM MY SUBCONSCIOUS MIND.
..."In a dilemma such as which i see myself, one would be lost on who to chose between the Devil & Deep Blue Sea.
I CHOSE THE DEEP BLUE SEA".
I, Miss Abasiodiong Eyo Inyang who until my dethronement few days ago was MISS TEENS 2017/18 deeply apologies over my negative behaviour lately.
Few days ago i added another year to my age & i thought it wise to embark on a photoshoot, I decided to post my "Half Nude" pictures taken with the clearest of intentions.
Not knowing I would be misunderstood!
And so, I apologize to organisers of the "Miss Teens Pageant" whose crown I bore...
To teenagers across boards who are victims because of how they dress...
To Akwa Ibomites who I let down...
To parents, family, School & friends...
Please, from the deepest recesses of my heart, i plead for FORGIVENESS.
The past few days have been hell for me, so depressed & so hard on me regarding the fact i was a serving queen & shouldn't indulge on negative trends. It hurts & sincerely, I have never felt this way in my entire life, and I just can not control it.
I never meant to bring disrespect to the world of Pagentry or modelling professions, my intention was not to belittled the crown or insult fellow queens. No... Far from it.
MY REGRETS:
1.) Not being asked WHY but being judged by ALL without an opportunity for fair hearing.
2.) Not being allowed to face a panel on my suitability to continue as a TEEN AMBASSADOR before being banished.
3.) Not being asked the motive behind my actions.
4.) Not given a chance/opportunity to atone & plead for forgiveness.
5.) Being chastised, condemned & treated as an infidel over a mistake i should have been corrected with kid gloves.
Notwithstanding,
I am sorry for what I did yesterday, I am sorry for what I did today and what I'll do tomorrow.
I know I could apologize for days on end but it may not eliminate your thoughts on me but i take solace on God Almighty & on his grace i continually seek strength to endure the pain i currently face.
Knowing my actions upset many tremendously,
PLEASE I AM DEEPLY SORRY.
My fault, I AM HUMAN & NOT A SAINT WITHOUT BLAME.
Dear Friends,
Help me if you will "Not to drown in this
DEEP BLUE SEA".
We Teens must grow, and Thrive, for a better tomorrow.
As a child raised from a christian home, i seek for forgiveness from all who i must have offended, i am not entirely perfect so let me not be crucified over an ignorance i now regret.
It is my fervent supplications to God that my apology over this sad episode of my life be ACCEPTED by all who i offended by this ugly incidence.
Once again, I AM DEEPLY SORRY, PLEASE ACCEPT ME BACK AS I AM.
God bless you all.

Was Kylie Jenner Kim Kardashian's surrogate?

by , in
Fans think the 20-year-old was the secret surrogate for her sister...

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have welcomed their third child - and some fans are convinced Kim's sister Kylie Jenner was the surrogate.
On Tuesday new! reported that the Keeping Up With The Karashians star, 37, had welcomed a 'healthy' baby girl on Monday, while Kylie, 20, has refused to comment on speculation she is pregnant with Travis Scott's baby.
Fans are now convinced that Kylie was her sister's surrogate in a bizarre conspiracy theory. It comes after Kim announced the arrival of a baby girl on January 15 weighing 7lb 6oz via a surrogate.
Fans took to Twitter to discuss the conspiracy theory. One wrote: "I'm convinced that @KylieJenner was Kim and Kanye's surrogate.. But either way Congratulations @KimKardashian and Kanye West to your latest addition. Heres to a beautiful and healthy baby girl! I'm so happy for you guys!!"

Kris Jenner buys Kendall and Mason $16,000 electric cars

by , in
She is a self-professed 'momager', and looks after the business affairs of all six of her children.
But Kris Jenner was sure to treat her loved ones this Christmas, having purchased lavish electric cars worth $16,000 for both her daughter Kendall and grandson Mason, eight.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 62, reportedly splashed out on an orange environmentally-friendly Moke motor for her 22-year-old model, and a red one for her grandson - despite him being far off the legal driving age.

Sources told The Blast that Kris planned well ahead of the festive period, as she ordered the vehicles more than six months ago.

Kourtney has since delighted her fans, by sharing a video of herself speeding around in the red motor on Instagram, with her son sat excitedly on her lap.
Kris is clearly a fan of the popular electric cars, and also treated herself to her own bright yellow version last month.

Clearly excited, she wrote to her 18.7 million followers in the caption: 'I LOVE this electric car!!!!!! Best surprise for Christmas!!!!!'
The Mini Moke is a fully electric utility car, and became popular in the Caribbean, the Seychelles and Australia thanks to its open-top roof, before finding success in the States.
However, it was not the only car Kris received - having also been given the playful present of a toy Porsche, designed for children, by unlikely pal Jennifer Lawrence.

Kim Kardashian celebrates being a mum of three and fans joke she has 'the best pregnancy bounce-back body' after surrogate birth

by , in

Kim Kardashian has been praised for having the "best pregnancy bounce-back body of all time" after she posted a picture of herself following the birth of her third child.
The couple's surrogate gave birth on Monday morning, with the pair welcoming a healthy baby girl, weighing in at 7lbs 6oz.
She tweeted: "# momofthree."
And the new mum celebrated by posting a picture of her gym-honed body - much to the hilarity of fans.
"Somebody said Kim Kardashian will have ht best pregnancy bounce-back body of all time," one fan tweeted.
While others asked why her kids weren't in the picture.
"Usually when people say 'mom of ...”=' they usually include the kids in the pic lol," another fan jibed.
The Kardashian family have been celebrating the birth of Kim's second daughter.
Kris sent her a cake covered in pink icing and Kim shared a photo on Instagram writing: "Thank you Mom."
Meanwhile, it's been reported that Kim was in the hospital delivery room when her third child was born, despite reports that she'd been banned by her surrogate.
The reality babe was front and centre at the birth of her little girl, according to TMZ .
Sources told the website that Kim was there when her surrogate was in labour and was the first person to have skin-on-skin contact with her baby.
They also say that husband Kanye West was at the hospital - although not in the delivery room - along with Kim's mum Kris Jenner and her sisters.
It's not yet known if the surrogate gave birth at Los Angeles' plush Cedars-Sinai hospital, where Kimye welcomed their other two children.
Earlier today it was reported that their surrogate had 'banned' them from the delivery suite.
The couple desperately wanted to watch their baby girl enter the world, reported heat magazine .
But the woman carrying their child apparently wasn't so keen.
Making matters worse, there was said to be nothing Kimye could do about it, because they promised to let the woman call the shots from the outset.
"The surrogate has done things her way. That was how everything was agreed up front," a source told the magazine.
"While they aren't arguing about it, Kim and Kanye have privately found it a struggle not being able to put their own touches on the delivery. They both wanted to witness the birth, but the surrogate wasn't as keen. They were hoping to reach a compromise but that hasn't happened."
It's also said that the pair wanted her to use the same doctor that delivered their children North, four and two-year-old Saint, as well as the rest of the Kardashian bebes - but again, the surrogate apparently said no.
Today, Kim thanked the surrogate who delivered her and Kanye 's third baby.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared the happy news that her daughter had been born on her website.
And she tweeted a link to her statement, saying: "She's here!"
The reality beauty's fans were so excited by the news.
One said: "Can’t wait to find out her name"
"Congrats," said another.
And another wrote: "Congratulations ki ki can't wait to find out her name!"
Aunty Khloe was also made up, with Kim's pregnant younger sister retweeting her post, along with a string of love hearts.

Selena Gomez's mother lashes out at fans forcing 'apology' from her daughter: 'She does not have to'

by , in

Selena Gomez has come under fire over her involvement with the controversial Woody Allen movie, A Rainy Day in New York. While Gomez's co-stars have publicly expressed regret for deciding to work with the director – who faces serious child sexual abuse allegations – fans of the pop star have made it clear that they would like an apology from her over Allen's film.
"Make Selena write an apology about the Woody Allen film," an Instagram user wrote to Mandy Teefey, Gomez's mother. Not the one to mince her words, Teefey spoke out by not only slamming critics over their comments but also clarifying her stand over the controversial movie.
"This is my LAST and ONLY comment in regards to media/comments," songstress' mother shared via a Facebook post, which seems to have been deleted.
A screenshot of the post, however, was shared by a fan page and it read: "I have done 1 official interview in Selena's entire career about Selena for E! with her consent. I have done nothing wrong but protect my child her entire career against vile people that have way more power than me, even after I was no longer managing because I am her mom."
"I was drug through the mud for the entire month of December in the media and did not say a word... I am tired of being accused of things that were not true and the lies coming from the people around Selena being put in the press and in her head," the 41-year-old shared.
While she also seemed to be referencing to the reports of a feud between her and her daughter in the recent past, Teefey explained her side as to why she has been responding to fan comments, especially about Allen's movie.
"I did nothing wrong by defending myself finally and I answered the Woody Allen question because they were attacking her team and telling me to make her apologise," Gomez's mother allegedly wrote.
She continued, "I get attacked for controlling and then get told to control her. I am a mom first. But, I am also my own person. She does not have to apologise for her choices, but let it be known they are hers.
"I don't need to be told how to raise my child, handle my family matters or be slammed for having my own opinion. I do not play for fandom, I speak my truth," added the former manager.

According to IBTimes UK , they have reached out to Gomez's representative about the alleged post and is awaiting a response.
Meanwhile, a screenshot of Teefey's response to a fan's comment about the "apology" has been circulating online.
"Sorry, no one can make Selena do anything she doesn't want to," Gomez's mother wrote. "I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn't click. Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here. No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears."
