‘He is Chairman and major shareholder in two high tech software and systems companies and a fast growing distributor of mobile computing products.’ The Downing Street website also has a profile for him that says: ‘Barry Dodd is a serial entrepreneur who has a passion for creating employment in rural areas and for providing job opportunities for ex-offenders and the young unemployed.
‘For the past decade he has devoted at least one day per week to unpaid public service, including as Chairman of the York and North Yorkshire with East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership, Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council of the University of Hull and Chair of the joint Hull, York Medical School.’
