Chrissy Teigen took to Twitter Friday to refute a newspaper report that claimed she and husband John Legend had been evicted from a New York City apartment.
The controversy stemmed from a New York Daily News report that their domicile 'was an illegal short-term rental,' and that they were witnessed 'abruptly packing their belongings and vacating the premises' when authorities visited the SoHo property Friday.
But the Sports Illustrated stunner took exception to the accuracy of the article, noting that images the outlet used were taken at different times.
The 32-year-old model wrote, 'These are 3 separate photos at different times and we have no idea what you’re talking about but ok whatever helps your slow news day ... help me it’s so cold out on this stoop.'
The paper halfway obliged - removing the tweet linking to the story, but leaving up the story itself - to which Chrissy responded to the paper, 'thank you for taking down! I will admit I do look *very* shady.'
In the story, the paper said that Legend and Teigen had not used Airbnb in their arrangement on the property in question, but that the building's owner has past rented out units with the service. A manager of a nearby nail salon told the newspaper that the presence of the celeb couple was 'never a problem.'
Chantel Nishimora, 23, added, 'You’d see them walking around the neighborhood with their child, but mostly it was dark SUVs and their drivers. And across the street there were always paparazzi.'
A worker at a nearby dry cleaner said that 'there are celebrities [moving] in and out of [the unit] all the time,' citing examples such as P. Diddy and 'some super model the paparazzi were snapping at.'
The social media star, who boasts more than 25 million followers on Instagram and Twitter, shared a shot alongside Legend outside of the property in January prior to the Grammy Awards.
The 5ft9 beauty, who shares a one-year-old daughter named Luna with the All of Me singer, is expecting the family's second child.
