Rick Ross' baby mama cancelled a planned child support hearing in order to rush to his hospital bed after the rapper was taken ill at home in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Rick, real name William Leonard Roberts, was due to attend a mediation meeting with his ex Tia Kemp on March 1, but Tia's lawyers pleaded with the judge to cancel at the last minute when Rick was hospitailsed with a suspected heart attack.
The rapper's legal team also asked for a postponement in the ongoing child support battle with Tia, who is mum to Rick's only son, 12.
Tia has recently been arguing that she needs her child support increased from $2,800 to $20,000 because their son requires counselling sessions, tutoring and money for extracurricular activities.
She'd previously sued Rick in 2007 to force him to acknowledge paternity with a test and to establish child support. The case closed in 2013 but Tia asked to open it back up in 2015 to demand the rapper pay up.
At the time, Rick refused to increase the money he paid the mother of his son, insisting his income hadn't changed and that she should get a job. Their battle has been ongoing ever since.
However, Tia appeared to have left the animosity behind on Thursday when she told Bossip she was heading to the hospital to be with Rick.
Emergency services were called to his Miami home at around 3.30am on Thursday when Rick was discovered unresponsive.
Police arrived to find him "slobbing out the mouth" and 'in distress', and were told he had a history of seizures.
According to TMZ, Rick was taken to a cardiac unit in a Miami hospital, signalling that it was his heart that made him collapse.
"They were trying to wake him up and he was slobbing out the mouth ... He is just nodding his head now and sat up still," the police report states, adding that he was breathing heavily.
TMZ reports that Rick is receiving treatment at a local hospital's cardiac unit, which may be a sign he suffered from a heart attack or similar, and that he is hooked up to a form of life support known as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation - which pumps much-needed oxygen back into the blood outside the body, before it's sent back in to the patient's system.
It essentially takes over the function of the heart and lungs when a patient is unable to do so themselves.
However, TMZ claims Rick's family has denied he is having that treatment, and previously denied he was even hospitalised.
Other news outlets report Rick is currently battling pneumonia - but his friends and colleagues have insisted he's not on life support, with rapper Bread Boi telling fans: "He's in the hospital but he's ok."
