Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal wedding security could cost £24 million

Dai Davies, a former Head of Royal Protection and Chief Superintendent of the Met Police told E! News: “Thousands of people will be working on keeping the family and their fans safe.
“This is a time to be extremely prudent and sensible. Every precaution needs to be taken.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding security reportedly included the likes of roof snipers, counter-terrorism investigations and undercover police hidden in the crowds.
However, with Harry’s previous military service in Afghanistan and the recent anthrax scare targeting Meghan, Dai insists their wedding is higher risk.
He continued: “Windsor is a much harder area to secure than London, which is so much better prepared.
“In Windsor, there are shops, buildings, houses, you name it and there is a history of people trying to get into Windsor Castle.”
It comes after the guest list for the couple’s wedding was confirmed, which will includes 1,200 members from the public “from every corner of the United Kingdom," and "will be nominated to attend by nine regional Lord Lieutenant offices."
Kensington Palace revealed: “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have said they want their Wedding Day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too.”
The palace continued: “The couple has asked that the people chosen are from a broad range of backgrounds and ages, including young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.”
