That stunning quadruple by Mohamed Salah against Watford on Saturday was the first four-goal salvo from a Liverpool player since Luis Suarez in December 2013.
That night, when Norwich were thrashed 5-1 at Anfield, Suarez produced one of the most potent-ever displays of the striking arts with four ever more impressive finishes, and also an assist for the fifth goal the Reds scored.
Inevitably, there will be comparisons between the two performances, and their respective qualities, as winger Salah broke another record by becoming the club’s highest scorer ever in a debut season.
