After his lavish wedding in Uyo back in December 2017, an oil and gas man was sentenced to 7-years imprisonment yesterday, for the r*pe of an 18-year-old student in Aberdeen.
The man identified as Kufre Umoh Uwem, 34, of 6 Waterton Lawn, Stoneywood, Aberdeen, reportedly held the woman down against her will in his flat before going ahead to r*pe her.
Uwem was also convicted of a second as he reportedly tried to r*pe another woman in her flat. The offences were committed on October 18, 2012, and October 30, 2016, at flats in Aberdeen.
Judge Lord Arthurson told Uwem: “This was a course of violent and predatory s*xual offending, notwithstanding the four years between the two offenses.”
Uwem’s first victim was a first-year student whom he met by chance and invited to his flat where he defiled her and according to the young lady the r*pe had “a monumental impact on her life”. Uwem’s second victim was attacked in her own home whom he removed her lower clothing with intent to r*pe her.
Lord Arthurson told him: “The consequences are truly catastrophic for you.” Uwem, has an MSc in pipe engineering and has been placed on the s*x offenders’ register.
