Last month, rapper #KodakBlack’s Pembrook Pines home was raided after police responded to a domestic dispute at the residence.
He had been on Instagram Live during the raid and even though Kodak had nothing to do with the incident, he ended up catching seven charges—grand theft of a firearm, possession of over 20 grams of marijuana, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon, two counts of probation violation and child neglect since his two-year old son was present in the home.
According to an affidavit obtained by @Blast, police had seen another IG Live video which showed his son near these alleged firearms and marijuana. Fast forward to this week, Kodak is attempting to get all seven violations dismissed citing that theres no way to prove that the guns and weed were real.
The rapper’s attorney supported these claims saying that Kodak and his team “often produce music videos and other promotional videos, as is customary in the industry, using fake firearms and narcotics.” In fact, he wants all of the charges against his client to be dismissed, because they shouldn’t have been filed in the first place.
So far the judge has dismissed three of the violations—possession of a firearm, grand theft of a firearm, and child neglect. He’s currently fighting for the other four to be dismissed.
