Selena Gomez makes a 'a significant donation' to Time's Up movement after starring in Woody Allen film... as co-star Timothée Chalamet donates his entire salary

Selena Gomez has reportedly made a 'significant donation' to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund after she starred in a Woody Allen film.
A source close to the star told PEOPLE that Selena's donation 'far exceeded' the salary she had received for A Rainy Day in New York, in the wake of ongoing sexual abuse allegations made against the film's director, Woody Allen.
The reports come after Selena's mother claimed to have 'warned her' against working with the director.

The 25-year-old actress is said to have 'anonymously' pledged a large sum of money to the sexual misconduct defence initiative's fund, which aims to help less privileged women protect themselves sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace.

Selena actions follow on from her co-star's Timothée Chalamet, who also donated his 'A Rainy Day in New York' fee, splitting the money between the Time's Up movement, The LGBT Center in New York, and anti-sexual assault organisation Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).

Meanwhile, Selena's mother Mandy Teefey said this week she tried to convince her daughter it would not be a good idea to work with the filmmaker on the motion picture - but the chat fell 'on deaf ears'.
The 41-year-old producer took to Instagram to reveal she spoke with her daughter about her decision to work on his latest film A Rainy Day In New York, after a fan commented on a post, 'make selena write an apology about the woddy allen film.'
The mother-daughter duo have reportedly had a strained relationship on the heels of Selena rekindling her romance with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, in addition to the songstress seeking new management in 2014 after Mandy had represented her daughter for decades.
Mandy quickly wrote back, 'Sorry, no one can make Selena do anything she doesn't want to. I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn't click. Her team are amazing people.'
